Stewart (shoulder) has been playing catch from 90 feet and is scheduled to throw from 120 feet Wednesday, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander landed on the injured list with shoulder tendinitis in early May and received a PRP injection a couple weeks later, but his recovery progress over the past month has been slow. Stewart will need to resume mound work before a rehab assignment is considered, and he's likely at least a couple weeks away from rejoining the Twins.

The Pirates recalled Ryan from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.

The right-hander was optioned to Triple-A in late May but will rejoin the Pirates ahead of Tuesday's contest in St. Louis. Ryan has been a solid option in middle relief this season with a 3.46 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 14:7 K:BB over 13 innings.

The White Sox transferred Leone (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday.

Leone was deactivated in late May due to right elbow inflammation, and his move to the 60-day IL ensures he'll be sidelined through the All-Star break. As a result of the transaction, Leone will move off the 40-man roster and open up a spot for right-hander Drew Thorpe, whose contract was selected from Double-A Birmingham ahead of his first MLB start Tuesday in Seattle.

The White Sox optioned Peralta to Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday.

Just two days after being selected from Charlotte and giving up a run in one-third of an inning during his season debut, Peralta will now head back to the minors. He'll keep his spot on the White Sox's 40-man roster, though a 7.16 ERA through 16.1 innings at Triple-A doesn't bode well for a return to the big leagues anytime soon.

The Pirates designated Hernandez for assignment Tuesday, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

A week after being optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis, Hernandez will now lose his spot on the 40-man roster in favor of Dennis Santana, who was claimed off waivers Tuesday. The 26-year-old southpaw owns a 4.82 ERA through 56 career MLB innings, but he has not been nearly as successful this season in the minors, posting a 7.04 ERA and 1.85 WHIP through 15.1 frames.

The Mariners recalled Diaz from Triple-A Tacoma, and he'll start Tuesday's game against the White Sox, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

The left-hander will start in place of Bryan Woo, who was scratched Tuesday for unspecified reasons. It will be Diaz's first MLB appearance of the campaign, but he's enjoyed a strong year at Tacoma with a 2.98 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 67:16 K:BB across 66.1 innings. The lack of walks is a notable improvement from 2023, as Diaz had a 4.4 BB/9 at Triple-A and walked seven over seven frames in the big leagues.

The Mariners recalled Bazardo from Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday.

Bazardo owns a 5.87 ERA through 7.2 innings in the majors this season, though he has given up just one run in five innings since returning to Triple-A on May 26. He'll now rejoin the Mariners' bullpen to replace Matt Bowman, who was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Bachman (shoulder) will move his rehab assignment to Double-A Rocket City on Thursday, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Bachman allowed an earned run on three hits across three innings while recording two strikeouts in his most recent rehab outing in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League on Saturday. The righty will now head to Double-A as he gets stretched back out following offseason shoulder surgery.

The Cubs reinstated Brewer (back) from the injured list Tuesday, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Since landing on the IL in mid-May, Brewer has appeared in three rehab games at Triple-A Iowa, allowing one earned run in four innings while striking out six batters and walking three. The 31-year-old owns a 3.09 ERA and 1.11 WHIP through 11.2 big-league frames this season and should return to a middle-relief role now that he's healthy. Ben Brown (neck) was placed on the injured list in a corresponding move.

Brown will be placed on the injured list with a left neck strain, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Brown has been dealing with the strain over the last few weeks and will head back to Chicago to undergo more testing. The severity of the injury is unclear but we should learn more in the coming days. Jordan Wicks is the primary candidate to take Brown's spot in the rotation, while Colten Brewer (back) should join the bullpen after being reinstated from the 15-day IL.
