The Mets designated Diekman for assignment Monday.

Diekman has often been used in high-leverage situations by the Mets this season, even picking up a save less than a week ago. However, he's allowed 10 runs over his last 7.1 innings and has issued 24 walks across 32 frames overall. The Mets could find another team willing to take on Diekman via trade, but they would likely need to eat some of what remains of his $4 million salary in order to facilitate a deal. Diekman's contract also contains a $4 million option for 2025 that vests if he makes 58 appearances this season. He's already made 43 appearances in 2024, which may further deter teams from dealing for the 37-year-old southpaw.

Garcia recorded his 12th hold in a win over the White Sox on Sunday, firing a perfect eighth inning.

Garcia was just acquired via trade with the Blue Jays on Friday, and he's been put right to work with the Mariners. Sunday's stellar seven-pitch outing was preceded by Garcia's Saturday debut, when he earned his 11th hold with a pair of strikeouts over one clear inning. Garcia figures to see plenty of seventh- and eighth-inning work now that Ryne Stanek has been traded to the Mets, and he should also be in line for an occasional save opportunity on days Andres Munoz is unavailable.

Bido (2-2) took the loss against the Angels on Sunday, allowing seven earned runs on six hits, four walks and a hit batsman over 3.2 innings. He struck out six.

Bido's swing-and-miss numbers weren't bad, but he otherwise had a rough go of it against what had been a light-hitting Angels squad. He actually cruised through his first two frames, but his unraveling began in a third inning during which the Angels sliced a 6-0 deficit in half via a Luis Rengifo RBI groundout and Willie Calhoun two-run single. Bido then issued three walks and a go-ahead grand slam to Taylor Ward in the fourth, putting the right-hander on the hook for the eventual loss. The 28-year-old saw his ERA shoot up from 3.09 to 5.00 with the rocky outing, but Bido is likely to remain in the rotation for the time being and projects to draw an unenviable matchup in the Dodgers for his next start this coming weekend.

The Blue Jays recalled Eisert from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday.

Eisert will serve as Toronto's 27th man during Monday's doubleheader in Baltimore and will be available out of the bullpen for both games. The left-hander has made one relief appearance for the Blue Jays this season, tossing two scoreless frames. He'll likely be sent back down to Buffalo following the twin bill.

Royals general manager J.J. Picollo said Monday that Schreiber (knee) is likely to be placed on the 15-day injured list, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports.

The Royals haven't provided an updated diagnosis for Schreiber after he was forced out of his relief appearance in Sunday's 7-3 loss to the Cubs with right knee patella tendon discomfort, but the team has apparently already deduced that the right-handed reliever is dealing with more than a day-to-day concern. Schreiber could cede his spot on the Royals' 26-man active roster to right-hander Michael Lorenzen, whom Kansas City acquired from Texas earlier Monday.

The Tigers acquired Vanasco from the Dodgers on Monday in exchange for cash considerations and optioned him to Triple-A Toledo.

Vanasco will fill the spot on the Tigers' 40-man roster that opened up after Detroit traded catcher Carson Kelly to the Rangers on Sunday. The right-hander reached the big leagues for the first time earlier this season with the Dodgers, but he made just two appearances out of the bullpen before being optioned to Triple-A earlier this month and then designated for assignment. Vanasco owns a 3.47 ERA, 1.73 WHIP and 27:21 K:BB in 23.1 innings out of the bullpen at the Triple-A level this season.

Cleavinger (7-2) struck out one without allowing a baserunner in a scoreless eighth inning to earn the win Sunday against the Reds.

Cleavinger entered with the Rays down 1-0 in the eighth inning and turned in his fifth consecutive clean outing. He's also picked up two wins in that span and should be locked into a high-leverage relief role after the departure of Jason Adam.

Atlanta optioned Herget to Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Herget, 30, recently returned from a shoulder injury and holds a 4.82 ERA and 10:3 K:BB over 9.1 innings in the majors this season. He's being replaced on the roster by Darius Vines, who was called up from Triple-A Gwinnett to provide the bullpen with some extra length.

Floro (3-3) took the loss Sunday against the Cardinals, allowing a solo home run over 1.1 innings. He struck out one without walking a batter.

The veteran right-hander got the final out of the seventh inning and worked a 1-2-3 eighth, but when manager Dave Martinez asked Floro to come back out for the ninth in a 3-3 tie, he served up a walk-off blast to Paul Goldschmidt. It's the first homer Floro has served up all year, and he's on track for one of the best seasons of his career with a 2.06 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 40:13 K:BB through 52.1 innings. That could earn the pending free agent a trade to a contender at the deadline, but if he stays put and Kyle Finnegan gets dealt instead, Floro might get a chance to close for Washington down the stretch.

Sewald was charged with a blown save in Sunday's extra-inning loss to the Pirates after he allowed a run on two hits in the ninth. He did strike out three.

Sewald was called upon for the ninth to protect a one-run lead and was unable to do so. Rowdy Tellez kicked things off with a leadoff double, but Sewald was able to rally with back-to-back strikeouts before Joey Bart laced a two-out double to tie the game up and eventually send the game into extras. It was the second time over his last three appearances Sewald's given up a run and he had converted five straight saves before blowing Sunday's opportunity. The 34-year-old owns a 3.76 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 28:4 K:BB in 26.1 innings. He's still got a grip on the closer's role, but the Diamondbacks did bring in A.J. Puk to bolster the back end of the bullpen, and he's someone that could supplant Sewald as the team's closer if Sewald were to keep struggling.
