Hector Neris RP | HOU
Cubs' Hector Neris: Holds on for 10th save
Neris earned a save against Tampa Bay on Wednesday, allowing one run on two hits and a walk with no strikeouts.
Entering with a 4-2 lead in the ninth inning, Neris surrendered a solo home run to Jose Caballero and then allowed a single and a walk before retiring Yandy Diaz and Brandon Lowe to escape with the save. This wasn't the most encouraging outing after Neris yielded four runs in a blown save Tuesday night, but manager Craig Counsell showed his faith in Neris as the team's closer by relying on him again Wednesday. On the season, Neris is 10-for-13 in save chances with a 4.21 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 24:19 K:BB across 25.2 innings.

Trevor Megill RP | MIL
Brewers' Trevor Megill: Records 11th save
Megill earned the save Wednesday in a 5-4 win over the Blue Jays, working around a hit and a walk while striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning.
After Toronto logged three straight hits off Hoby Milner to start the ninth, the Brewers turned to Megill to shut the door. He got off to a shaky start, allowing two inherited runs to score after a hit and a walk, though he'd ultimately settle in and close out the 5-3 victory. The 30-year-old Megill has now converted Milwaukee's last three save chances while allowing just one earned run in his last seven appearances. Megill's converted 11 of 12 save opportunities this year while working to a 1.89 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 25:5 K:BB across 19 innings.

However, Mendoza is now ready to restore Diaz to his old role beginning with Thursday's contest against the Marlins. JT Chargois RP | TEX
Marlins' JT Chargois: Returns from 60-day IL
The Marlins activated Chargois (neck) from the 60-day injured list Wednesday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Chargois has been out all season with a neck issue and was pulled off his rehab assignment at one point because of a setback. He's ready to go now, though, after making eight scoreless appearances with Triple-A Jacksonville following the resumption of his rehab assignment. Chargois should eventually be used as a high-leverage reliever by Miami but could be eased into such situations.

Brewers' Joel Kuhnel: Finds work in Milwaukee
Kuhnel signed a minor-league contract with the Brewers on Tuesday.
Kuhnel was assigned to Triple-A Nashville after signing with Milwaukee, and the affiliate wasted little time in putting him to work. Prior to joining Milwaukee, Kuhnel spent time in the big leagues this season with Houston, giving up four earned runs over two innings in his lone relief appearance.

The right-hander would then set Detroit down in order in the bottom half, stranding the free runner to close out his second win this season. Overall, he sports a 1.65 ERA with a 0.84 WHIP and 29:10 K:BB while converting 18 of 20 save chances across 27.1 innings.
