  • Diamondbacks' Kendall Graveman: Reinstated from IL

The Diamondbacks activated Graveman (hip) from the 15-day injured list Friday.

Graveman's one-month stint on the injured list comes to an end Friday, as he'll rejoin Arizona's bullpen in place of Jalen Beeks (back), who's headed to the IL himself. Graveman has allowed eight runs in 8.1 innings across nine appearances with the Diamondbacks this season.

Diamondbacks' Jalen Beeks: IL move official

The Diamondbacks placed Beeks on the 15-day injured list Friday, retroactive to July 8, due to lower back inflammation.

As manager Torey Lovullo indicated earlier Friday, Beeks will be shelved with back inflammation. The move opens up a spot for Kendall Graveman (hip) to rejoin the active roster. In 41 innings, Beeks has a 4.39 ERA and a 39:15 K:BB.

  • Padres' Eduarniel Nunez: Optioned to El Paso

The Padres optioned Nunez to Triple-A El Paso on Friday.

After giving up two earned runs over 4.2 innings during his first nine days as a major leaguer, Nunez will head back to Triple-A to clear room for Ryan Bergert's (forearm) return from the IL. The 26-year-old Nunez also owns a 2.40 ERA and 1.07 WHIP over 30 innings between Double-A and Triple-A this season, and if he continues at that rate, he should be able to make another appearance for the Padres at some point down the line.

  • Diamondbacks' Kendall Graveman: Activation pending

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Friday that Graveman (hip) will be activated from the injured list, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.

Graveman has been on the shelf since June 9 due to a right hip impingement and began a rehab assignment earlier this week. He threw a scoreless inning with the Diamondbacks' rookie-level Arizona Complex League squad Tuesday. Jalen Beeks (back) is headed to the injured list in a corresponding move.

Diamondbacks' Jalen Beeks: Going on IL

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Friday that Beeks will be placed on the injured list due to lower back inflammation, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.

Beeks hasn't pitched since July 6, and it's unclear when the injury popped up. The left-hander was expected to be in the mix for save opportunities while Shelby Miller (forearm) is on the shelf. However, it seems as though Kevin Ginkel will hold down closer duties. Kendall Graveman (hip) is expected to be activated from the injured list in a corresponding move.

  • Ryan Borucki RP | SF

Pirates' Ryan Borucki: Continuing rehab at Triple-A

Borucki's (back) rehab assignment was transferred to Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday.

Borucki threw a perfect inning in a rehab outing at Low-A Bradenton, and he'll advance to Indianapolis. The 31-year-old reliever should need only one or two more minor-league appearances before being activated, though Pittsburgh will likely wait until after the All-Star break to add Borucki to the active roster.

  • Aaron Ashby RP | MIL

Brewers' Aaron Ashby: Moves to paternity list

The Brewers placed Ashby on the paternity list Friday.

The left-hander will step away from the team ahead of the final series before the All-Star break in order to be with his growing family. Ashby should be back with the Brewers by the start of the second half next week.

  • Yohan Ramirez RP | PIT

Pirates' Yohan Ramirez: Joining active roster

The Pirates selected Ramirez's contract from Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday.

Ramirez will get his first taste of MLB action this season, as he is getting called up after re-signing a minor-league contract with Pittsburgh on July 6. The 30-year-old has logged a 3.07 ERA and a 39:11 K:BB across 29.1 innings with Indianapolis this season. Jared Triolo was optioned to Triple-A, and Matt Gorski was designated for assignment in corresponding moves.

  • Mets' Justin Hagenman: Returned to Syracuse

The Mets optioned Hagenman to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.

Hagenman will surrender his spot on the 26-man roster to Kodai Senga (hamstring), who has been activated from the injured list. In four MLB appearances this season, Hagenman has posted a 5.11 ERA and a 13:1 K:BB across 12.1 innings.

  • Noah Davis SP | PIT

Dodgers' Noah Davis: Designated for assignment

The Dodgers designated Davis for assignment Friday.

The right-hander was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City last weekend and will now lose his place on Los Angeles' 40-man roster. Davis surrendered 13 earned runs over six innings across his five outings with the Dodgers this season.
