Rusin allowed no runs on one hit and three walks while striking out six over five innings, but received no decision Saturday at Arizona.

Due to pitching out of the bullpen to start the season, Rusin left the contest after throwing just 76 pitches. He left the game with a two-run lead that the bullpen promptly blew in the following inning. After allowing three runs in his first outing of the season, he's now held opponents scoreless over his last 14.2 innings to lower his ERA to 1.69. He'll make his next start Thursday at San Francisco.

Gomez picked up his eighth save of the season Saturday with a scoreless inning against the Indians.

He allowed two hits in the ninth and avoided giving up two runs thanks to a great catch by right-fielder Peter Bourjos. Gomez's eight saves tie him for second in MLB.

Iglesias (shoulder) will not make his scheduled start Sunday, the Cincinnati Enquirer's C. Trent Rosecrans reports.

Tim Adleman will indeed be recalled from Triple-A to make the start in the series finale against the Phillies, after Iglesias felt a "pinch" in his right shoulder Friday. Iglesias' status will be updated once the club announces what the next step will be for him, but it's possible he could be headed to the disabled list.

With Dalier Hinojosa (hand) landing on the DL, Murray will come up for his second stint at the major league level. He made eight appearances last year, allowing five runs over 7.2 innings, as part of the team's expanded September roster. He will likely work exclusively in the middle innings.

Mazzaro was called up by the Giants on Saturday, CSN Bay Area's Alex Pavlovic reports.

He'll take Mike Broadway's spot in the bullpen after Broadway was sent to Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday. The veteran righty reliever posted a 3.75 ERA last year with the Marlins, although he has never been overpowering. His 0.64 ERA in 14 innings with Sacramento likely prompted the promotion, but he is unlikely to see high-leverage looks with the big club.

Underwood (elbow) returned to the hill Friday for Double-A Tennessee, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out two over four innings.

The Cubs' top pitching prospect appears to be past the elbow stiffness that kept him back at extended spring training for the first month of the season. This is excellent news, as dynasty-league owners no longer have to worry about the injury turning into something more serious. Underwood should stay with Tennessee for most of the season, but could be heard from in single-season leagues in 2017.

Hernandez picked up his first win of the season Friday with two scoreless innings against the Indians. He struck out four and did not allow a hit or a walk.

Hernandez got off to a shaky start to the season, but has really turned things around of late. He has a 3.97 ERA and a 20:5 K:BB in 11.1 innings. Hector Neris is probably next in line for save chances if Jeanmar Gomez falters, but Hernandez is right behind him in the pecking order.

Melancon needed just two pitches - both strikes - to record the final out and notch a save in the Pirates 4-1 win over Cincinnati on Friday night.

The Pirates entered the ninth with a 4-0 lead, but Arquimedes Caminero allowed a pair of hits and a run to set up Melancon to come on and record his sixth save of the year. He has struggled a bit lately, allowing five hits, two walks, and two runs over his last three innings, but he remains one of the better bets to close games.

Garcia was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday.

Garcia has only appeared in one game with the Phillies this season, giving up one hit and no runs. With an MLB career ERA of 3.90, he will continue developing his game in Triple-A, but has the chance to get called back up later this season. Adam Morgan was called up to replace Garcia and will start Friday.
