Vizcaino is dealing with an oblique injury, and manager Brian Snitker indicated the setback will land Vizcaino on the disabled list, MLB.com's Mark Bowman reports.

The Braves will not know the full extent of Vizcaino's setback until Saturday, but he has been diagnosed with an oblique injury, and that type of setback typically requires several weeks to come back from. Jim Johnson would be the favorite to serve as the Braves' closer if Vizcaino lands on the disabled list as expected.

Vizcaino was removed from Friday's game with an apparent side injury, Kevin McAlpin of The Braves' Radio Network reports.

Vizcaino, who was pitching Friday for the first time in nine days in a non-save situation, was removed without recording an out. Expect an update on his status once the extent of his setback has been determined.

Miller was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Thursday.

This move comes as a surprise, not only given Miller's contract situation, but also due to the injuries to other starters such as Zack Greinke and Rubby De La Rosa. That said, Miller has been one of the more disappointing offseason acquisitions in baseball this season, struggling his way to a 7.14 ERA with 50 strikeouts and 34 walks over 69.1 innings of work. He'll head back down to Triple-A to iron out his issues for the time being. The Diamondbacks will make a corresponding roster move Friday.

Edgin has been effective at Triple-A Las Vegas but his velocity is only in the low-90s, which is why he may not be considered for a call up, the NY Post reports.

Edgin, prior to Tommy John surgery, topped out around 95 mph. The drop in velocity, despite the 2.45 ERA and 22 K in 22 innings pitched, is likely why he remains in the minors despite the Mets needing another bullpen arm.

Montero was demoted from Triple-A Las Vegas to Double-A Binghamton on Wednesday, Betsy Helfand of the the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports

Montero has seen his prospect status go by the wayside the past two seasons. Last year, he was sidelined most of the season due to shoulder woes, though the Mets' doctors were unable to find anything that would have prevented Montero from pitching. This season, Montero was 4-6 with a 7.20 ERA in 16 starts with the 51s, resulting in the demotion.

Beede, 23, has a 2.57 ERA and 74:25 K:BB through 91 innings for Double-A Richmond.

Beede has been stellar of late. The former first round selection has a 21:7 K:BB ratio over his last three starts, a span of 18.1 innings. Beede's strikeout ratio has not been elite since the beginning of last season, though he appears to be trending in the right direction.

Reyes started the game for the World team, pitching 1.2 innings, giving up no runs and striking out four.

Reyes flashed triple digits on the radar gun a few times during his appearance. Although he has a tendency to struggle with his command, the stuff is all there for Reyes. He features a fastball, changeup and curveball repertoire, the fastball being his best pitch. If he continues to develop his off-speed pitches and work on his command, Reyes has the stuff to be a future ace in the big leagues. If he struggles to put it all together, he may end up in the back end of the Cardinals bullpen. Either way, the upside for Reyes is worth a gamble. He will most likely get called up to the majors at some point in 2016 as either a starter or a reliever.

Hernandez allowed one hit in a scoreless inning of relief in Sunday's 10-3 win over the Rockies.

Hernandez has three straight scoreless appearances after going through an eight game stretch where he allowed 13 runs on 18 hits. His 4.50 ERA doesn't look great, but he has been a solid contributor most of the season thanks to his 13 holds and 52 strikeouts in 42 innings of work.

Jansen closed out a 13-strikeout gem by Kenta Maeda on Sunday against the Padres by pitching a scoreless ninth inning for his 27th save. He allowed a hit and a walk but struck out two.

The 28-year-old closer insured that Maeda's masterpiece wasn't for naught, but not without a little intrigue. Jansen allowed a leadoff infield single to pinch-hitter Travis Jankowski and then issued a walk to Melvin Upton, who Maeda had fanned three times. He bore down at that point however, sending both Will Myers and Matt Kemp back to the dugout with bats on shoulder before getting the red-hot Yangervis Solarte to fly out to left. Jansen now has a stellar 1.16 ERA and 0.65 WHIP over 38.2 innings, while also recording 51 strikeouts over that span.

Vizcaino threw a bullpen session Sunday and will be available to pitch Friday, Kevin McAlpin of the Braves Radio Network reports.

Vizcaino's arm ailment isn't an internal issue and was described by Braves' manager, Brian Snitker, as being a "spot" on his elbow. Although Vizcaino hasn't been a reliable closer, having blown three of his 13 save opportunities, he's been a solid source of strikeouts and is posting a strikeout rate of 29 percent.
