Diplan was called up to High-A Brevard County on Sunday.

Diplan was mowing down the competition at Low-A Wisconsin, compiling a 1.80 ERA with a 1.16 WHIP during 70 innings of work. He posted a 6-2 record as a starter in the 11 games he pitched and will get his first chance to show off his stuff at the High-A level for Brevard County.

Jansen recorded his 26th save in Saturday's 4-3 victory over the Padres, pitching a scoreless ninth and striking out two while giving up no hits or walks.

Just another dominating performance for the 28-year-old closer, who turned in his 13th straight scoreless appearance. Jansen last gave up an earned run and blew a save opportunity on June 11 against the Giants and has been successful on 26 of 29 save chances overall this season.

Pivetta (groin) was activated from the disabled list at Double-A Reading.

Pivetta missed just eight days due to a groin strain he suffered in his last start. He will start for Reading on Sunday in the Fightin Phils' final game before the Eastern League All-Star break.

Manager Chip Hale said Saturday that Hudson could get some save opportunities depending on matchups, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

The Diamondbacks' trade of closer Brad Ziegler left some question marks in the back end of their bullpen, but Hale was quick to address the issue Saturday by saying that Hudson and Tyler Clippard will both be getting save opportunities. It appears as though Clippard has the early edge after Hudson was away from the team on the bereavement list recently, but Hudson should be in line for opportunities after he gets re-acclimated.

Rodney struck out one and picked up his second hold of the season with a scoreless eighth inning in Friday's win over the Reds.

After a couple of shaky outings, Rodney combined with closer A.J. Ramos for a pair of perfect innings to protect the win for ace Jose Fernandez. Friday represents exactly the type of dominant late-inning effort the Marlin's front office was hoping for when acquiring the veteran reliever a couple weeks back. Unfortunately for his fantasy owners, Rodney is unlikely to see more than some stray save opportunities while Ramos remains healthy and effective.

Hudson was activated off the bereavement list Saturday.

Hudson missed three games while attending to a family matter but is now back and available out of the bullpen for Saturday's game against San Francisco. The 29-year-old reliever has given up 11 earned runs over his last six appearances (33.00 ERA) after allowing only five runs through his first 29 innings pitched this season.

Treinen pitched 0.2 shutout innings Friday to pick up his 10th hold of the season in a 3-1 win over the Mets.

He needed just three pitches to get the inning-ending double play the Nats needed to escape the eighth after Shawn Kelley gave up consecutive hits to begin the frame. Treinen continues to generate a ton of ground balls with his heavy sinker, posting a 10:1 GB:FB through 3.2 innings so far in July, which should make him a steady source of holds for the rest of the year. His 2.27 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 33:16 K:BB in 35.2 innings isn't bad either.

Melancon notched his 27th save by striking out Wilson Contreras for his only out in Friday's 8-4 victory over the Cubs.

The Pirates closer was brought in to slam the door after A.J. Schugel got into some trouble with two out. Schugel retired Tommy La Stella and Ben Zobrist to start the top of the ninth before surrendering a Kris Bryant single and issuing a free pass to Anthony Rizzo. Melancon has now successfully converted 23 consecutive save opportunities and has not given up an earned run since May 15.

Hudson, who is currently on the bereavement list, may be in line to take over as the D-backs' closer following the trade of Brad Ziegler to Boston on Saturday.

His strikeout rate is down this season (from 9.4 K/9 a year ago to 7.0 in 2016), and he's also struggled to keep runners on base from coming around to score (61.1% LOB%). Hudson arguably has the best combination of stuff and experience in the Arizona bullpen with Ziegler's departure, and it may not be long before D-backs manager Chip Hale tips his hand regarding his new plans for the ninth inning.

Nelson (5-7) allowed two runs on six hits and four walks while striking out two over six innings, but received no decision Friday against the Cardinals.

Nelson had a one-run lead after leaving in the sixth inning, but the bullpen was unable to make it hold up, leading to the no decision. He's now held opponents to three or fewer earned runs in each of his last four starts to lower his ERA to 3.62 on the year. He'll make his next start after the All-Star break.
