Melancon earned save number 37 Tuesday in Philadelphia, allowing a walk while striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning.

Melancon worked around a leadoff walk to preserve a well-deserved 3-2 victory for starter Max Scherzer. He has now converted 37 out of 40 save opportunities in 2016.

Chapman struck out one in a clean ninth Tuesday against the Pirates to secure his 31st save of the season.

The dominant left-hander is now 11-for-13 in save chances since debuting with the Cubs on July 27. During that time, he's allowed just two earned runs in 15.2 innings while notching 26 strikeouts.

Miller will be recalled to start Wednesday's game against the Giants, Nick Piecoro of AZCentral.com reports.

Although no roster move has been officially made at this time, it looks as though Miller's time in the minors is coming to an end. He has been solid since his demotion, notching a 3.91 ERA with 55 strikeouts over 50.2 innings at Triple-A Reno. He'll have a big test right off the bat in his return as he'll be facing a Giants team that sports a .328 wOBA at home this season.

Vizcaino (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.

The young right-hander has had some difficulty staying healthy as the season has worn on and he'll now be on the DL for the second time in less than a month. He allowed seven earned runs over 2.2 innings prior to landing back on the DL. The Braves recalled John Gant in a corresponding move Tuesday.

Montero was optioned to Double-A Binghamton on Tuesday.

In a corresponding move, Logan Verrett has been recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas. During Tuesday's spot start with the Mets, Montero threw five shutout innings and allowed just two hits. However, he still allowed plenty of baserunners as he walked six batters. He could rejoin the big club again before the regular season comes to a close.

Montero took a no-decision on Monday, shutting out the Marlins for five innings despite allowing six walks. He gave up two hits and struck out three.

The six walks are obviously a bad sign, but the fact that he was able to keep the Marlins off the board despite the walks was promising. The 25-year-old struggled so mightily in Triple-A that he was demoted to Double-A before being recalled to make the spot-start on Monday. After a posting a 1.70 ERA for Double-A Binghamton, Montero will likely get some time in the Mets' bullpen this September when rosters expand.

Strop (knee) threw a bullpen session Monday, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.

Strop threw a 25 pitches Monday and said he felt good after doing so. There's yet to be word regarding when Strop will begin a rehab assignment, but initial reports indicated he'd take four-to-six weeks to recover, making it likely he'll return by mid-September. Before being placed on the DL, Strop had built a 2.89 ERA and 0.89 WHIP over 43.2 innings of action.

Reyes is expected to start Friday against the Reds, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.

Reyes made his first MLB start Saturday against the A's. Although he pitched just 4.2 innings, he had an impressive showing as he allowed just two hits and one run. However, after walking four batters in said game, he'll need to improve his control when he takes the mound against Cincinnati.

Montero has officially been recalled to start Monday's game against the Marlins.

Montero will serve as the fill-in for Jacob deGrom, whose turn in the rotation is being skipped Monday as he attempts to work out some mechanical issues. The right-handed Montero struggled, initially, at Triple-A this season, but has since turned things around at Double-A, where he holds a 1.70 ERA across eight starts (47.2 innings).

Stewart was optioned to Double-A Tulsa on Monday.

With Kenta Maeda rejoining the major league roster to start Monday night's game, Stewart will be sent down to clear a spot on the roster. Stewart had an impressive outing Sunday against the Cubs, tossing five shutout innings with eight strikeouts en route to a no-decision.
