Stephenson will start Monday's game against the Mets, C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Stephenson has started two games for the Reds this season, picking up a win in both. Over 12 innings, he's allowed four runs off five hits and four walks. However, he's been subpar at Triple-A Louisville, where he owns a 4.41 ERA and 1.36 WHIP after 24 starts.

Grace was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.

The lefty has taken a step forward with his control this season, shaving his walk rate with Syracuse nearly in half from 2015. He's also held same-handed hitters to a .242 average, but Grace has posted middling strikeout rates throughout his minor league career and does not fit the mold of a back-end arm.

Gott was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.

He has yet to pitch in a game in the majors this season after making 48 appearances out of the Angels' bullpen in 2015. The results this season with Syracuse have been less than stellar, with Gott posting a 4.35 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 33 appearances. Look for manager Dusty Baker to use him mostly in low-leverage spots.

Murray was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday.

He was subpar in 23 innings with the big club earlier this season, posting a 4.30 ERA and 18:9 K:BB in 23 innings. However, he will get the September call-up to eat some low-leverage innings out of the bullpen down the stretch.

De La Rosa (elbow) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno on Thursday.

De La Rosa suffered a setback a couple weeks ago when he felt tightness in his injured forearm, but fortunately that was only minor, as he was able to get back on the mound just a couple weeks later. De La Rosa has worked almost exclusively as a starter since joining the Diamondbacks, but he threw just one inning Thursday and could work in a bullpen role for the rest of this season given the amount of time he would need to build up his pitch count in order to start.

Chafin (shoulder) began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno on Thursday.

Chafin was shut down for a couple weeks after tweaking his groin last time he attempted to kick off a rehab assignment, but he is ready to return to game action. It's not clear how many times he will throw in the minors, but he is on track to rejoin the big club at some point in early-to-mid- September.

Stephenson was recalled from Triple-A Louisville on Friday.

Stephenson has had two of his best starts of the year for Triple-A Louisville over his last two outings but he still allowed three walks in each contest, which remains a big problem for him. It is unclear how the Reds plan to deploy Stephenson in September but even if he gets a shot in the rotation, it's hard to point to a specific reason why he would be worth a look in standard leagues other than the fact that he used to be a top prospect.

Edwards tossed a perfect ninth with a strikeout for his first career save Thursday against the Giants.

Aroldis Chapman had pitched three straight days, so the Cubs turned to Edwards in the ninth and he got the job done. The rookie's been absolutely outstanding in the majors this year, having allowed just 20 baserunners in 26.2 innings. Take away his outlier five-run disaster against the Cardinals in mid-August and you're left with just four runs in a span of 26 innings -- a 1.38 ERA. He's not likely to see many more save chances, though.

Strop (knee) strained his right groin Thursday, which will delay his recovery from left knee surgery, Patrick Mooney of CSN Chicago reports.

Strop threw a bullpen session earlier in the week and was though to be nearing a return from an August 11 arthroscopic procedure on his knee. This latest news is expected to delay his return by roughly two weeks, but it's far from a devastating setback for the right-hander, who's still anticipating pitching out of the bullpen later in the month, prior to the postseason.

Lazo was designated for assignment Thursday, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports.

This is mostly a procedural move, as the Marlins had to find a way to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for the recently promoted Destin Hood. Lazo has worked his way up to the Triple-A level, where he's posted an impressive 1.78 ERA across 30.1 innings of work.
