Moore (2-4) allowed six runs on five hits and four walks over just 2.2 innings in a loss Monday to the Rockies.

Moore had lasted at least five innings in every one of his starts dating back to May 9 against the Blue Jays. Control continues to be a huge issue for the lefty, as he walked four batters or more for the fifth time this season. Moore owns a 4.31 ERA with the Giants, and most of his struggles can be pinned to a horrid 5.7 BB/9 since he was acquired by San Francisco.

Moore (2-4) was hammered to the tune of six runs over 2.2 innings against the Rockies on Monday. He walked four and only struck out one.

This was clearly Moore's worst outing with his new club, as he had managed to go at least five innings in his six previous starts since joining San Francisco. Usually it is a sound strategy to avoid starting non-ace pitchers at Coors Field, but owners may have been lured into this dud because he had been coming off of two strong outings. Things don't get easier for the lefty as his next start comes against Arizona at Chase Field, which ranks right behind Coors this season in terms of homer-friendly ballparks.

Melancon came on to pitch the ninth with a 6-2 lead, and yielded a pair of runs on four hits, but managed to close out the game for the Nats.

The shaky outing was an unusual one for Melancon, who still holds a 1.57 ERA after Monday. Melancon has blown just three saves all year in 41 tries, so he can be forgiven for the poor inning in a non-save situation.

Weber (1-1) went just three innings in a spot start Monday, allowing five runs on six hits and a walk, taking the loss against the Nationals. He struck out two.

Weber had been primarily a bullpen pitcher in 2016, making only a handful of starts in Triple-A and none at the major league level, so no one expected him to go deep into Monday's contest. Still, Weber's five-run third inning proved a hole the Braves couldn't dig themselves out of, as they went on to lose 6-4 against the Nationals. Weber's ERA climbed to 6.39 with the start, and he should slide back into a bullpen role with Matt Wisler expected to return to the rotation next time around.

Chafin (shoulder) is expected to come off the disabled list Tuesday, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Chafin is with the Diamondbacks in Los Angeles and will come off the DL on Tuesday. Chafin, who's been out since July 3, has done well on his rehab assignment. Over 6.2 innings, he's allowed two runs and struck out nine batters. However, he's yet to impress with the big club, where his ERA and WHIP are at 6.75 and 1.46 for the year.

De Leon may not be used in his next scheduled start, J.P. Hoornstra of the Southern California News Group reports.

Depending on how Scott Kazmir's upcoming rehab start goes, De Leon may not be pitch his next scheduled outing, which would likely be next week against the Yankees. In his MLB debut Sunday, De Leon gave up four runs (three of which were earned) and recorded nine strikeouts over six innings.

Stephenson (2-1) took the loss on Monday, despite holding the Mets to two runs in 5.1 innings. He gave up six hits, walked one, and struck out nine.

Stephenson recorded a 4.41 ERA at Triple-A Louisville, but has performed well in three starts at the major league level. The 23-year-old will look to build off of his strong start Monday when he takes the ball again on Sunday in Pittsburgh.

Reyes remains a candidate to start Wednesday against the Pirates, but the Cardinals are still deciding between him and Mike Leake, MLB.com's Jenifer Langosch reports.

Reyes posted a quality start his last time out, but the top prospect may end up giving way to a healthy Mike Leake, who is now ready to rejoin the rotation. Reyes only threw 65.1 innings for Triple-A Memphis this season due to a suspension, so it remains possible he's called upon either in relief, or for a spot start down the stretch.

Law (elbow) could return to action next Monday when first eligible, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Law is on the disabled list with an elbow injury, but he has been able to play catch at the team's spring training complex, and the team is optimistic he will be able to rejoin the big club after sitting out the minimum 15 days.

Jansen struck out one while working around a hit to record his 41st save of the season Sunday versus the Padres.

The dominant season continues for the Dodgers' star reliever, as he now sits in sole possession of second place in saves among closers and owns an otherworldly 13.3 K/9 rate. Jansen will continue to play a key role out of the bullpen as his club jostles for playoff positioning down the stretch.
