Cordero has been placed on the disabled list at Triple-A Lehigh Valley with a right shoulder strain.

This is the second time this season that Cordero has been on the disabled list with a shoulder injury. He appeared in just one game after being promoted to Lehigh Valley earlier this month. The injury may have cost him a promotion to Philadelphia now that the IronPigs are out of the International League playoffs.

De La Rosa allowed one run on one hit over two innings against the Giants on Friday. He also struck out three and walked two.

Coming back from a long absence due to a disabled list stint, De La Rosa wasn't expected to hurl more than three frames. He threw 43 pitches, 23 of which were for strikes. He is 4-5 with a 4.17 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 52 strikeouts in 49.2 innings this season. He is scheduled to pitch again Wednesday versus Colorado.

Nelson allowed four runs on five hits and a pair of walks across six innings in Friday's loss to the Cardinals. He struck out four.

Nelson was undone by his third inning, as he allowed a pair of two-run home runs in the frame to account for all of the damage against him. He had moved past the fifth inning just once in the previous nine starts, so Friday's outing was positive in that regard, but he has still thrown just one quality start in the last 10 tries. He will next take the hill Thursday versus the Cubs.

Chapman nailed down his 33rd save of the season Friday versus the Astros, striking out one in a perfect inning of work.

Chapman was as efficient as one could ask for Friday, as he retired the side on just six pitches. He has now thrown been scored upon just once 8.2 innings, going 6-for-6 in save opportunities during that time, and he continues to perform as effectively as any fantasy reliever going down the stretch.

Gsellman allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks over five innings Friday while striking out six. He did not factor into the decision.

Gsellman isn't making anyone forget about Matt Harvey, but he's providing the Mets with solid, gutsy innings at a critical point in their season, meaning that he could be a source of value in deeper formats. He has 17 strikeouts, a 3.92 ERA and a 1.50 WHIP in 20.2 innings since being called up in August. His next test will be against Washington and Tanner Roark on September 14.

De Leon will start Monday against the Yankees, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

This was expected, but the team has confirmed that De Leon will indeed toe the rubber Monday at Yankee Stadium. That means that while De Leon will miss out on a matchup with the Marlins at spacious Marlins Park this weekend, he should get two starts next week with the Dodgers traveling to Arizona for a four-game set following the Yankees series.

De La Rosa (elbow) was officially activated from the DL ahead of Friday's start against the Giants.

The 27-year-old's long road back from injury will end Friday, as he will return to face the Giants in his first start since May 25. While the Giants rank dead last in the NL in runs scored this month with 18, they are a relatively strong favorite in the road matchup with ace Madison Bumgarner on the mound.

De Leon will likely start Monday's game against the Yankees, David Vassegh of 570 KLAC reports.

There was some speculation that De Leon could slide into Tuesday's start for Scott Kazmir (neck), but the 24-year-old will rejoin the rotation a day earlier than expected. De Leon pitched well in his major league debut, striking out nine in six strong innings, so he'll look to build off of that Monday in the Bronx.

Hoffman (0-3) was beaten up for seven runs -- none of them earned -- on six hits and two walks in just 2.2 innings Thursday against the Padres.

Yes, Hoffman got away with all seven of his runs -- which all scored in the third inning -- being unearned, and yet his ERA Is still an awful 5.60, which should tell you just how bad he's been over the course of his first four MLB starts. He has more walks (10) than strikeouts (eight) and has given up 20 runs (but just 11 earned, if that qualifies as a silver lining) in 17.2 innings. Leaving Coors Field for his next start won't help him, as it'll come in the similarly hitter-friendly Chase Field against the Diamondbacks.

Gomez picked up his 36th save Thursday in Washington, striking out two while allowing one hit in a scoreless inning of work.

Gomez was tasked with protecting a 4-1 lead in this one, and required 17 pitches to do so. He rarely produces 1-2-3 innings, but its' tough to argue the closer's effectiveness given that he has blown just four of 40 save opportunities.
