Gsellman gave up three runs on six hits over seven innings against the Phillies on Wednesday, striking out seven and walking one. He didn't factor into the decision.

He actually left with a 3-2 lead, but reliever Jerry Blevins let a runner Gsellman left on base come around to score. The Mets ultimately won anyway, and Gsellman's fantasy owners should feel good about this effort after his rocky start to the season. Don't mistake him for the next Jacob deGrom, but Gsellman should at least be a decent contributor as long as he can hold onto a spot in the Mets' rotation.

Minter is set to miss at least one month as he recovers from an adductor groin strain, David O'Brien of AJC.com reports.

Minter was shut down with the injury after making just one minor-league appearance. Given his injury history, it wouldn't be surprising if the Braves were extra cautious with the 23-year-old. He should slot back into High-A upon his activation from the DL.

Treinen has been removed from the closer role, Jamal Collier of MLB.com reports.

The writing was on the wall for this move -- manager Dusty Baker said following Tuesday's game that the team would evaluate the closer position after another poor outing from Treinen. Shawn Kelley and Koda Glover will share closer duties moving forward. Treinen gave up one run and loaded the bases while managing to record just one out Tuesday before being pulled from the game. He has struggled to a 7.11 ERA and 2.53 WHIP, but Treinen is expected to continue seeing high-leverage opportunities as part of the setup mix.

Bowman earned his third hold of the season in Tuesday's 2-1 victory over the Pirates, allowing one hit and recording a strikeout. As per Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com, he hasn't allowed an earned run since Sept. 6 of last season, a stretch of 17.1 innings.

The 25-year-old former Rule 5 pick's scoreless streak doesn't even include the 12 shutout frames he fired this spring, and he's also allowed just three hits across eight appearances this season while generating a minuscule 0.55 WHIP. Bowman preserved what was a one-run lead in the eighth Tuesday, validating the increasing trust that manager Mike Matheny has in him. "I think it says a lot about Bowman and whatever role we give him he seems to do a great job with," Matheny said. "He's equally effective [against] lefties with the movement and deception. He's a very important piece right now."

Miller (2-1) allowed one run on four hits and two walks across 7.1 innings in Tuesday's win over the Padres. He struck out five.

Miller went down in the third after a rally from the home team pushed a run across, but he allowed just three baserunners the rest of the way and was pulled after 101 pitches with a massive lead in hand. He continued to show strong velocity in this one while limiting baserunners better than he had in either of his previous two outings, and perhaps the best sign was that he made it into the eighth inning for the first time since October 2015. Miller now holds a respectable 3.50 ERA to go along with his winning record, which he will look to improve upon Sunday against the Dodgers.

Edwards recorded his second hold of the season in Tuesday's win over the Brewers. He pitched one inning and did not allow a hit or a walk.

Edwards didn't record a strikeout either, but fantasy owners can't complain about his 0.00 ERA and 0.71 WHIP through 5.2 innings this season. Edwards emerged as a trusted bullpen option last season, and he's showing no signs of slowing down in 2017.

Melancon gave up two hits but struck out the side in the 11th inning Tuesday to record his third save of the season in a 2-1 win over the Royals.

His 3.86 ERA and 1.93 WHIP still carry the weight of his blowup back on Opening Day, but Melancon's now tossed four consecutive scoreless appearances while converting three straight saves. The 32-year-old has four straight seasons with a sub-1.00 WHIP coming into 2017, so expect those ratios to improve as the campaign progresses.

Nelson (1-0) coughed up seven runs on nine hits and walk while striking out three over 5.1 innings but escaped with a no-decision in Tuesday's 9-7 loss to the Cubs,

After tossing a pair of quality starts to begin the season, the right-hander fell back to earth with a thud Tuesday, giving up two-run homers to Kyle Schwarber and Miguel Montero as part of the Cubs' onslaught. While Nelson's 16:3 K:BB through 18.1 innings so far is strong, serving up home runs remain an issue for the 27-year-old, one that will make it tough for him to outperform his career 4.38 ERA. His next start will come Sunday at home against the Cardinals.

Montero (0-2) gave up four runs (three earned) on four hits while getting just one out in the 10th inning of Tuesday's 6-2 loss to Philadelphia.

Montero has been bombarded by opposing hitters to the tune of a 9.45 ERA and 3.60 WHIP through 6.2 innings. Sometimes, the raw numbers really paint the picture: Montero has given up 16 hits and eight walks in his six appearances. He doesn't grade as a major-league pitcher right now, so don't be surprised to see the Mets send him to Triple-A soon.
