  • Robert Suarez RP | ATL

Padres' Robert Suarez: Earns 22nd save

Suarez struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Nationals.

Suarez has posted back-to-back scoreless outings after a stretch of three appearances in which he allowed seven runs over one inning. The 34-year-old also picked up his 22nd save of the year, though it was his first since June 8 versus the Brewers, in part due to his recent poor performance. He's at a 3.51 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 34:9 K:BB over 33.1 innings. Suarez is currently appealing a three-game suspension stemming from his plunking of Shohei Ohtani last week -- Suarez remains eligible to pitch while the appeal is active, but it's possible he'll drop it if he faces a heavy workload in the near future.

  • Shelby Miller RP | CHC

Diamondbacks' Shelby Miller: Secures ninth save

Miller fired a clean ninth inning to pick up his ninth save of the year in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the White Sox.

Miller retired the White Sox in order on 12 pitches for his second save in as many appearances. Miller has taken over the closer role for the foreseeable future with the Diamondbacks losing two high-leverage arms for the season. He's enjoying a bounce-back campaign and has allowed just two runs over his last 12 appearances while racking up a 13:1 K:BB over that span.

  • Ryan Helsley RP | BAL

Cardinals' Ryan Helsley: Holds on for 15th save

Helsley picked up the save in Tuesday's 8-7 victory over the Cubs, allowing two hits in a scoreless ninth inning. He struck out one.

June has certainly been a dicey stretch for Helsley, who's now yielded two knocks in five of his seven outings this month, but he was able to hang on for his 15th save Tuesday. The hard-throwing right-hander had blown three straight save opportunities prior to successfully converting his past two chances, so that should offer fantasy managers some optimism going forward. Helsey sports a 3.54 ERA and 33:12 K:BB over 28 innings, but his 1.46 WHIP looms as a cause for concern.

  • Ryne Nelson SP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ryne Nelson: Punches out seven Tuesday

Nelson allowed one run on one hit and three walks while striking out seven in five innings Tuesday against the White Sox. He did not factor into the decision.

Nelson recorded six of the first seven outs via strikeout. He relied heavily on his four-seamer, throwing it nearly 80 percent of the time, and racked up six of his seven punchouts with the pitch. Nelson has allowed just two hits over his last two starts and has allowed two earned runs over his last 15.2 innings. He lines up for a home start versus the Giants to begin next week.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Turns in ninth save Tuesday

Iglesias secured the save in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Mets, allowing one hit and recording the final two outs. He struck out one.

Enyel De Los Santos was unable to slam the door on the Mets, which prompted manager Brian Snitker to turn to Iglesias for his ninth save of the season. It was Iglesias' first save opportunity since he gave up three runs during his June 5 outing, and Tuesday was his first converted save since May 16. Pierce Johnson worked the sixth inning Tuesday, while Dylan Lee may not have been available after throwing 1.1 innings for a save Monday, but it was still an encouraging outing by Iglesias as he tries to reclaim the closer role -- he's posted six straight scoreless appearances with a 5:0 K:BB.

  • Pirates' Michael Darrell-Hicks: Officially promoted

The Pirates recalled Darrell-Hicks from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.

Darrell-Hicks has pitched two scoreless innings at Indianapolis since being claimed off waivers from the Angels, and he'll now be called upon to replace Hunter Stratton in Pittsburgh's bullpen.

  • Pirates' Hunter Stratton: Optioned to Indy

The Pirates optioned Stratton to Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday.

After giving up three runs in one inning Monday, Stratton will return to the minors, where he owns a 3.91 ERA through 23 innings. Michael Darrell-Hicks will come up from Triple-A to fill the open bullpen spot.

  • Porter Hodge SP | CHC

Cubs' Porter Hodge: Activated from injured list

The Cubs activated Hodge (hip) from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

Hodge initially went on the IL in late May with an oblique strain, but more recently it was a left hip impingement giving him trouble. However, Hodge has been cleared to return after making four rehab appearances with Triple-A Iowa. He allowed eight runs (seven earned) with a 3:4 K:BB over three innings in those rehab outings, so the Cubs could ease Hodge back into high-leverage situations.

  • Roddery Munoz RP | HOU

Cardinals' Roddery Munoz: Heading back to minors

The Cardinals optioned Munoz to Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday.

Munoz's latest stint in the big leagues lasted only one day, and he tossed a scoreless frame in Monday's win over the Cubs. He's moving off the roster to make space for Michael McGreevy, who was recalled from Memphis to start Tuesday's contest against the Cubs.

  • Jack Dreyer P | LAD

Dodgers' Jack Dreyer: Will open in Colorado on Tuesday

Dreyer will serve as the Dodgers' opening pitcher Tuesday in Colorado, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Justin Wrobleski is a good bet to absorb most of the innings as a bulk reliever, although manager Dave Roberts isn't divulging those plans. Dreyer holds a 3.18 ERA and 39:15 K:BB over 39.2 innings covering four opener assignments and 26 relief outings this season.
