  • Marlins' Kyle Barraclough: Blows first save as closer

Barraclough gave up a run on two hits and a walk in the ninth inning Monday to blow his first save since taking over as the Marlins' closer in an eventual 3-2 win over the Rays.

It was his third blown save of the year, but the first two came when he was still in a setup role. Barraclough had converted seven straight opportunities prior to Monday's stumble, and the run on his ledger was the first he'd allowed in nearly two months, snapping a string of 21 straight scoreless appearances. Trade rumors have been swirling around Barraclough, but if the right-hander remains in Miami, he should continue to be a strong second-tier closing option for fantasy purposes.

  • A.J. Minter RP | MIN

Braves' A.J. Minter: Nails down fourth save

Minter walked one and struck out two in a scoreless 11th inning Monday to pick up his fourth save of the season in a win over the Yankees.

Arodys Vizcaino (shoulder) is set to come off the disabled list Tuesday, returning Minter to a setup role, but the left-hander was effective while the Braves' closer was on the shelf, reeling off eight straight scoreless appearances and posting a 0.55 WHIP and 5:2 K:BB in 7.1 innings while converting both of his save opportunities. Should anything happen to Vizcaino down the road, Minter seems ready to step into the closer role on a regular basis.

  • Reds' Raisel Iglesias: Earns 16th save

Iglesias struck out two in a clean inning of work to earn his 16th save of the season Monday against the White Sox. He struck out two.

Iglesias came out firing in this one, throwing nine of 12 pitches for strikes as he sat down the side in order. He was touched up for a pair of runs in his previous outing, but that wasn't a save situation and he is now 16-for-18 in such opportunities this season.

  • Silvino Bracho RP | CIN

Diamondbacks' Silvino Bracho: Heads back to Reno

Bracho was optioned to Triple-A Reno on Monday.

Bracho will journey back down to the minors after throwing two innings of relief against the Giants on Sunday. In his place, Joey Krehbiel had his contract selected and will replenish the Diamondbacks' bullpen.

  • Diamondbacks' Joey Krehbiel: Contract selected from minors

Krehbiel had his contract purchased from Triple-A Reno on Monday.

Krehbiel will add some extra depth to the Diamondbacks' bullpen after posting a 2.45 ERA and 1.16 WHIP over 29 appearances in Triple-A this season. The right-hander has never pitched in a major-league game up to this point in his career, so don't expect to see him in any high-leverage situations.

  • Braves' Arodys Vizcaino: Likely activated Tuesday

Vizcaino (shoulder) is expected to be reinstated from the disabled list Tuesday, David O'Brien of the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports.

Vizcaino was able to throw another bullpen session Monday and claimed that he felt as good as he has in a long time, according to manager Brian Snitker. Though it was previously expected that Vizcaino would be back prior to Monday's game, the club wants to make sure his shoulder is feeling just as good Tuesday morning before activating him from the shelf.

  • Evan Phillips RP | LAD

Braves' Evan Phillips: Back up with Braves

Phillips was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.

Phillips was called up in late June but failed to make an appearance. The 23-year-old righty has a 2.09 ERA in 38.2 innings for Gwinnett this season. He'll likely fill a low-leverage role in the Braves' bullpen.

  • Nick Pivetta RP | SD

Phillies' Nick Pivetta: Earns extra-innings win in relief

Pivetta picked up an unexpected win in relief Sunday, pitching a scoreless 13th inning, walking one and striking out one.

Pivetta was the starter the Phillies turned to after they used eight pitchers to get through the game's first 12 innings. He got the job done against the heart of the Nationals' order, allowing just a walk to Anthony Rendon. The relief appearance is unlikely to affect Pivetta's availability for his next start, as the Phillies have off days both Monday and Thursday, allowing him to start on normal rest Friday in Pittsburgh.

  • Kenley Jansen RP | DET

Dodgers' Kenley Jansen: Logs 22nd save

Jansen got the save against the Rockies on Sunday, striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning to close out the Dodgers' 6-4 victory.

Jansen continues to roll, as this was his 19th consecutive converted save since he last blew one back on April 17. He had a couple of rough outings at the beginning of the season, but that's a distant memory at this point, as Jansen now has 22 saves on the year, to go along with a rock-solid 2.31 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP through 39 innings.

  • Will Smith RP | KC

Giants' Will Smith: Gets second consecutive save

Smith recorded the final out of the game via strikeout to earn his second save Sunday against the Diamondbacks.

Mark Melancon was called upon to start the ninth inning with the Giants up 9-5, but Smith entered the game with the tying run at the plate after Melancon allowed three hits and an earned run. This marked Smith's second consecutive save chance -- he converted both successfully -- and with both Sam Dyson and Melancon struggling with inconsistency, he may now be the frontrunner for save opportunities. However, the situation remains muddled as Tony Watson could enter the picture as a fourth option to man the ninth inning.
