Fields signed a minor-league contract with the Brewers on Tuesday.

Fields will join the Brewers in major-league camp after being designated for assignment and subsequently released by the Dodgers earlier in the month. He's expected to open the season in the minors, per Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, but seeing as the veteran reliever owns a 2.61 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 115:34 K:BB across 117.1 innings over the last three seasons, he should eventually factor into the bullpen picture for Milwaukee.

De La Rosa was reassigned to minor-league camp Tuesday.

De La Rosa is back on the mound for the first time in 18 months after recovering from Tommy John surgery. He'll need more time to get up to speed in the minors, as he allowed three runs in 3.2 innings of spring work.

Strop (hamstring) reported no issues following his most recent bullpen session, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Strop will ramp things up in another bullpen session, and if everything goes off without a hitch, the right-hander will likely be cleared to pitch in a game (likely a minor-league contest) shortly thereafter. The Cubs are handling the reliever with care, but he should still have enough time to get ready for the start of the season.

Beede was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Beede was a long shot at best to crack the Giants' Opening Day roster. He struggled significantly with Sacramento last season, finishing with a 7.05 ERA in 74 innings of work.

The Marlins optioned Garcia to Triple-A New Orleans on Tuesday, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.

Miami's decision to demote Garcia and reassign another lefty reliever to the minors in Brian Moran might signal that the team could be eyeing southpaw Wei-Yin Chen for a relief role, per Joe Frisaro of MLB.com. Garcia didn't make much of a splash in the fantasy realm as a reliever or part-time rotation member for the Marlins a season ago, posting a 4.91 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 5.5 K/9 across 66 innings in his 29 appearances (seven starts).

Strop (hamstring) has thrown off a mound within the past few days, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Though it was unclear exactly when Strop threw off the mound, it was reported that he only threw a few pitches in that session. The plan is now to increase the intensity and volume of his work until he can return to game action, hopefully before the close of spring training. Strop will need to appear in at least one more game in the Cactus League if he is to be ready for Opening Day.

Wilson allowed five hits and three earned runs while walking one and striking out four across four innings Monday against the Yankees.

Wilson allowed all three of his earned runs in the second inning, one of which came on a solo home run off the bat of Luke Voit. He settled down thereafter, escaping a jam in the fourth inning by inducing Tyler Wade to ground into a double play. The 21-year-old has pitched well this spring, posting a 3.29 ERA with 13 strikeouts and two walks across 13.2 innings. Wilson is making his case to remain with the big-league club to start the regular season.

Rainey was optioned to Triple-A Fresno on Monday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

Rainey was acquired by the Nationals in exchange for Tanner Roark this offseason. Known as a hard-thrower who lacks control of his pitches, Rainey struggled this spring allowing seven earned runs and three walks in 4.2 innings of work.

Hudson allowed four hits and a walk while striking out eight across five innings Monday against the Phillies.

Hudson is locked in a battle for the final rotation spot in St. Louis and continued his strong spring showing Monday. He has now allowed only three runs in 15.2 innings of work this spring, backed up by a strong 17:4 K:BB.

Hoover was reassigned to minor-league camp Monday, Mark Zuckerman of MASN Sports reports.

Hoover was vying for a spot in Washington's bullpen as a non-roster invitee, but a middling spring prompted the Nationals to send him to the minors to open the season. The veteran will provide bullpen depth in 2019.
