Wilson (elbow) was activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

Wilson landed on the shelf May 11 due to left elbow soreness, and he's finally been cleared to return after suffering a setback in mid-June. Chris Mazza was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse in a corresponding move.

Hernandez (2-4) took the loss in relief Monday against the Brewers after giving up three runs on three hits and two walks during a 30-pitch seventh inning.

As C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic notes, Hernandez acknowledged after the contest that the death of former Diamondbacks and Angels teammate Tyler Skaggs was weighing on his mind during the outing, so his struggles are certainly understandable in that context. Nonetheless, the appearance was Hernandez's third straight in which he allowed at least one run, a development that could prompt manager David Bell to rethink his usage of the right-hander. With 11 holds on the season, Hernandez trails only Amir Garrett (14) for the team lead.

The Padres are expected to activate Lamet (elbow) from the 60-day injured list later this week to start one of the team's four games against the Dodgers in Los Angeles, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

With Cal Quantrill moving from the bullpen to the rotation Wednesday against the Giants, the Padres appear set to conclude the final week of the first half with a different starting pitcher for all seven of their games. San Diego will presumably pare their rotation down to five or six men after the All-Star break, but Lamet should have a good chance at sticking around as a starter after drawing rave reviews during his six-outing minor-league rehab assignment. While he gave up 16 runs in 24 innings between stops at High-A Lake Elsinore and Triple-A El Paso, Lamet notched 33 strikeouts and consistently flashed a sharp slider and upper-90s fastball that occasionally touched 100 miles per hour. Lamet rejoined the Padres on Monday and completed a bullpen session without incident, setting him up to make his long-awaited return to the big leagues after being sidelined since undergoing Tommy John surgery in April 2018. According to Acee, the Padres are expected to limit Lamet to around five innings in most of his starts this season to ease the strain on his surgically repaired right elbow.

Sborz (back) was activated from the 10-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Monday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Sborz landed on the shelf June 21 due to lower back soreness, though he's now returned to health and will head down to the minors. He's posted a 4.91 ERA and 1.43 WHIP with a 37:5 K:BB over 29.1 innings this season with Oklahoma City.

Kimbrel allowed three runs on three hits over an inning of work in Monday's 18-5 loss to the Pirates. He struck out two.

Kimbrel was hardly the only Chicago pitcher to struggle in a game in which the Cubs gave up 23 hits. The veteran reliever allowed two home runs, including the third long ball of the game for Pittsburgh slugger Josh Bell, to account for all three of his earned runs. Kimbrel now has an ugly 13.50 ERA, though he'll quickly whittle that figure down if he can string together a few scoreless appearances.

Alzolay (1-1) allowed seven runs on 10 hits and a walk across 2.2 innings to take the loss Monday against the Pirates. He struck out three.

Alzolay may have nightmares of Josh Bell, as the Pittsburgh slugger tagged him for a three-run home run in the first inning, then launched a two-run bomb off of him in the second. The 24-year-old righty was off to a nice start with a 2.08 ERA through his first 8.2 innings of work, but that figure ballooned to 7.15 on Monday. With Cole Hamels (oblique) on the IL, Alzolay could stick around as the Cubs' No. 5 starter, but they could also turn to Tyler Chatwood on an interim basis, sending Alzolay to the bullpen or, more likely, Triple-A.

Hader allowed two runs on two hits while striking out one batter, earning the hold against the Reds on Monday.

Hader took the mound in the eighth inning with a 6-3 lead and served up a two-run shot to Eugenio Suarez. It was the seventh homer allowed by Hader this year and the first since June 1. Monday also broke Hader's 11.1-inning scoreless streak.

Wilson (elbow) resumed his minor-league rehab assignment Saturday with short-season Brooklyn, tossing a scoreless inning.

He struck out two and gave up one hit and a walk in the 20-pitch outing, his first since being pulled off his rehab assignment June 15. According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, the Mets will re-evaluate Wilson on Monday before determining his next step, but the southpaw will likely require at least one more outing in the minors before returning from the 10-day injured list.

Wilson is listed as the Braves' probable pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Phillies.

Wilson returned from Triple-A Gwinnett last week to make his first appearance for the big club since April 26 and his first start since March 30. The right-hander took a no-decision in the outing versus the Cubs, lasting just 4.1 innings while ceding six runs (four earned) on six hits and one walk while striking out six. Despite the underwhelming showing, Wilson will be given another crack at locking down the fifth starter's job, but he'll likely need better results this time around to stick in the rotation after the All-Star break.

Herget was called up from Triple-A Louisville on Monday.

Hergert was added to the 40-man roster in November and is set for his major-league debut after posting a 3.58 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 44:24 K:BB over 37.2 innings at Louisville. The 25-year-old figures to fill a low-leverage bullpen role for the Reds.
