Jansen blew the save against the Blue Jays on Wednesday, giving up one earned run on one hit in one inning as the Dodgers eventually came back to win 2-1 in 10 innings. He struck out one and walked none.

Tasked with protecting a 1-0 lead, Jansen was hit with his sixth blown save of the season after serving up a game-tying solo shot to Rowdy Tevez in the ninth inning. It continues to be an uncharacteristically erratic campaign for the right-hander, as he's now sporting a 3.70 ERA over 48.2 innings, a figure that easily qualifies as the highest of his career.

Rodriguez did not factor into the decision during Wednesday's loss to the Cubs after lasting just four innings while surrendering six runs on six hits and three walks with a pair of strikeouts.

The right-hander had much to prove Wednesday and unfortunately couldn't quite get the job done during a sloppy performance. After getting promoted from Triple-A Sacramento for a spot start against the Diamondbacks last week, Rodriguez had delivered a strong outing to earn Wednesday's second chance in the rotation. With Shaun Anderson (finger) and Johnny Cueto (elbow) returning from the injured list sometime within the next few weeks, Rodriguez suddenly finds his starting status in jeopardy with Tyler Beede and Logan Webb also vying for spots. Through 22 appearances this season, Rodriguez owns a 5.26 ERA and 1.23 WHIP.

Neris struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Wednesday to record his 23rd save of the season in a 5-2 win over the Red Sox.

The right-hander hasn't blown a save -- or even allowed a run -- in over a month, posting a 17:2 K:BB over his last 13 innings. The hot streak has lowered Neris' ERA to 3.19 on the year, but his 0.97 WHIP and 12.1 K/9 offer a better picture of how dominant he's been as the Phillies' closer.

Floro was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a left intercostal strain, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Floro was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday and apparently suffered the injury while firing a scoreless frame in his first game back in the majors. Casey Sadler rejoins the team in a corresponding move as added bullpen depth.

Iglesias recorded two strikeouts while allowing no baserunners during the ninth inning to post a save in a 4-2 victory against the Padres on Wednesday.

His overall numbers still aren't the best, but Iglesias has allowed just one run over his last 10.2 innings. Over almost the last month, he's converted nine straight save opportunities as well. Overall, he has 26 saves with a 3.86 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 70 strikeouts in 53.2 innings this season.

Strahm allowed no runs on three hits with zero walks and four strikeouts across two innings during a no-decision against the Reds on Wednesday.

Starting his first game of the second half, Strahm wasn't expected to last long anyway, but then it took him 42 pitches to record six outs. Although he didn't give up any runs, that shortened his outing even more. Strahm has been better out of the bullpen this season, but it will be interesting to see if this strong start leads to more opportunities down the stretch. He is 5-8 with a 5.11 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 103 strikeouts in 98.2 innings across 31 appearances, including 16 starts, this season.

Holmes was placed on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with left quadriceps discomfort, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

Holmes has an 8.18 ERA, 2.18 WHIP and 14:13 K:BB in 11 innings since the All-Star break. Parker Markel will take his place in the bullpen.

Beede didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Cubs, giving up three runs on six hits -- including three home runs -- and three walks over four innings while striking out four.

Nic Castellanos and Anthony Rizzo both took him deep in the first inning, and then Rizzo did it again the next time he faced Beede in the third. That's nothing new for the right-hander, who's served up 20 homers in only 86.2 innings this year. He now has a 5.82 ERA and 1.63 WHIP, and it's not clear if the Giants will give him another chance in the rotation to turn things around.

Young (5-3) picked up the win against the Rockies on Tuesday, giving up three earned runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out four and walking one as the Diamondbacks prevailed 8-7.

The 25-year-old had given up nine earned runs over 8.1 innings in his previous two outings, but he bounced back with his fourth quality start of the season en route to his fifth win in this contest. Young has performed respectably in his 49 big-league innings this season, posting a 4.04 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 37:16 K:BB. He's scheduled to take the mound next on the road against the Giants on Monday.

Patino left Tuesday's start after developing a blister, Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

The 19-year-old breezed through three innings before the early departure, throwing 28 of 35 pitches for strikes and giving up two hits and no walks while striking out three batters. Patino was making his second Double-A start after appearing in 20 games (19 starts) with High-A Lake Elsinore.
