Josh Smith RP | BOS
Marlins' Josh D. Smith: Promoted to Marlins' bullpen
Smith was added to the Marlins' big-league roster prior to Tuesday's game against the Orioles, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
Smith was one of many pitcher waiver claims by the Marlins following their COVID-19 outbreak, coming over from the Indians' organization. Smith struggled last year at the big-league level, particularly with his control, walking 11 batters in 12.2 innings.

Daniel Castano RP | MIA
Marlins' Daniel Castano: Contract selected
Castano was added to the Marlins' big-league roster before Tuesday night's game against the Orioles, Joe Frisaro of MLB.com reports.
This is Castano's first taste of the majors after arriving with the Marlins' organization from the Cardinals in the Marcell Ozuna trade. He's primarily worked as a starter but might take over the Adam Conley role as a long lefty out of the bullpen for the time being.

Sam Coonrod RP | NYM
Giants' Sam Coonrod: Yet to resume throwing
Coonrod (lat) remains in physical therapy and is set to be re-evaluated at the end of the week, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Coonrod landed on the 10-day injured list Friday but still hasn't resumed throwing. The team hopes that he'll be able to begin a throwing program over the weekend if his evaluation at the end of the week goes well. It's still unclear when the right-hander could return to action. Coonrod tossed 3.2 innings over four appearances to begin the season, allowing three runs on four hits and three walks while striking out two.

Wander Suero RP | ATH
Nationals' Wander Suero: Activated from injured list
Suero (undisclosed) was activated from the injured list Tuesday, Byron Kerr of MASNSports.com reports.
Suero missed much of camp for undisclosed reasons but has been able to throw for the past two weeks and is now ready for game action. With a fine-but-forgettable 4.16 ERA in 119 major-league innings so far in his career, the righty probably isn't ticketed for high-leverage innings any time soon.

Luis Patino RP | SD
Padres' Luis Patino: Joining big-league bullpen
Patino is joining the Padres ahead of Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports. He will be used out of the bullpen initially.
One of the game's top pitching prospects, Patino won't turn 21 until October but he has reportedly been lights-out at the alternate training site. The Padres already have a dynamic back of the bullpen with Kirby Yates, Drew Pomeranz and Emilio Pagan, but Patino will be capable of logging more than one inning in his appearances, as he is a starter by trade. If he has initial success, it's possible he could be a rotation option later in the season. Even if he sticks in the bullpen, Patino could vulture some wins while providing plenty of strikeouts.
