Webb (0-1) allowed three runs on two hits and two walks in Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader, blowing the save and taking the loss against the Cubs.

Webb came into the sixth inning with one out and an inherited runner and struggled to finish the inning. He coughed up an RBI double to Willson Contreras before serving up a three-run, go-ahead blast to pinch-hitter David Bote. St. Louis looks to be using a closer-by-committee approach but Webb likely set himself back with Monday's rough outing.

Reyes allowed one unearned run on three walks while striking out two batters in one inning during a loss to the Cubs in the second game on Monday's doubleheader.

Reyes couldn't find his command Monday, throwing just 10-of-24 pitches for strikes. Fortunately, he's still sporting a perfect 0.00 ERA in two appearances this season with five strikeouts. It's unclear if Reyes will remain a starter/opener or get more work out of the bullpen moving forward.

Yamamoto (0-1) took the loss after allowing three runs on three hits and three walks while striking out one over 1.1 innings Monday night against the Mets. He was optioned to Miami's alternate training site after the game, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Yamamoto struggled early in this one, despite his offense gifting him an early one-run lead. He surrendered three runs in the top of the second before getting pulled with just one out in the frame. Yamamoto has accrued an 11.42 ERA and 2.42 WHIP with a 10:5 K:BB over 8.2 innings so far this season.

Gallegos (1-0) secured the win in Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader against the Cubs after striking out two batters over one scoreless inning.

Gallegos cruised through the sixth frame, needing just 11 pitches to retire Chicago in order. The Cardinals would take a 3-1 lead in the seventh inning, resulting in a victory for the 29-year-old right-hander. He's appeared in three games this season, fanning five batters over 2.2 scoreless innings of relief work.

Yates (elbow) is expected to miss the remainder of the 2020 season, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

It was reported earlier in the day that Yates was headed for a second opinion after bone chips were found in his right elbow, but this latest update from Nightengale gives reason to believe the right-hander may be done for the year. The team has yet to confirm this latest report. It's reasonable to expect another update on the closer in the near future.

Kolarek was recalled from the Dodgers' alternate training site Monday, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.

The Dodgers made the move after Edwin Rios (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list. Kolarek has been excellent in five games out of the bullpen this season, picking up two wins and fanning three batters over 5.1 innings of work.

Reyes will start the second game of Monday's doubleheader against the Cubs, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Reyes was spotted warming up in the outfield prior to the nightcap, and the Cardinals confirmed him as the starter shortly after. He's appeared in just one game so far this season, fanning three in a scoreless inning Aug. 15 against the White Sox. It's unclear as to how deep Reyes can work in this one, with his last big-league start dating back to the 2018 season.

Coonrod (lat) traveled to San Francisco's alternate training site to throw live batting practice, and he's on track to begin simulated games later in the week, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Coonrod continues to make steady progress from a lat injury, however, he remains without a concrete timetable for a return. He's surrendered three runs on four hits while fanning two over 3.2 innings so far this season.

The X-rays on Estevez's right hand came back negative Monday, Nick Groke of The Athletic reports.

Estevez's right hand was hit by a line drive on the final play of Sunday's contest and appeared to be in considerable pain when leaving the field. "It looks like we dodged a bullet," manager Bud Black said Monday. The right-hander traveled with the team to Houston for the current series, but it's unclear whether he'll be available Monday. Estevez could compete for closing duties with Daniel Bard and Jairo Diaz after Black said Sunday that the team wouldn't use a designated closer in the coming games.

Rodriguez was optioned to the Giants' alternate training site Monday.

Rodriguez got roughed up in relief Sunday as he allowed five runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out one over 1.2 innings. As a result, he'll be removed from the 28-man roster, but he'll remain on the taxi squad for the team's current road trip. Outfielder Steven Duggar was recalled from alternate camp in a corresponding move.
