Atlanta optioned Davidson to Triple-A Gwinnett following his start in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Mets.

Davidson's demotion comes as somewhat of a surprise after he turned in a quality start Tuesday -- he allowed three earned runs on five hits and a walk while striking out five over six innings. With Huascar Ynoa (hand) recently joining Mike Soroka (shoulder) on the injured list earlier this week, Atlanta still has a long-term need for a fifth starter, so Davidson could still be summoned back to the big leagues when his next turn in the rotation comes up Sunday against the Pirates. However, Atlanta would need to place another player on the IL in a corresponding move in order to bring Davidson back from the minors this weekend.

Gallegos garnered his eighth hold in a win over the Pirates on Tuesday, firing two perfect innings during which he recorded three strikeouts.

The right-hander got six outs on an efficient 26 pitches while authoring his fourth consecutive scoreless appearance. Four of the six earned runs Gallegos has allowed this season have come across two outings, underscoring how typically reliable he's been. The 29-year-old has already logged 20 appearances overall and boasts a 28:5 K:BB across 25.1 innings to go along with a 2.13 ERA and sparkling 0.63 WHIP.

Smith (0-4) was tagged with the loss Tuesday against the Mets after giving up one run on two hits while fanning two across one inning.

Tasked with preserving a 3-3 tie when he entered in the ninth inning, Smith allowed a game-winning home run to Tomas Nido. Smith has gone 7-for-7 in save opportunities this season, but he hasn't pitched in such a scenario since May 6. He owns an 0-2 record with an 11.25 ERA since that point, giving up five runs on nine hits while posting a 5:1 K:BB across four innings during that span.

Davidson didn't factor into the decision in Tuesday's game against the Mets after allowing three runs on five hits and a walk while fanning five across six innings.

Davidson delivered a strong performance in his season debut, limiting the Mets to just three runs and posting a quality start. The left-hander could remain in the rotation for several weeks as a result of Huascar Ynoa's hand injury, which is expected to sideline him for around two months.

Diaz recorded a save Tuesday against the Braves after pitching a scoreless ninth inning, fanning two.

Diaz came into the game with a one-run lead and closed the door fairly quickly, fanning two of the three batters he faced and closing things out with a Pablo Sandoval flyout. The right-hander, who tossed nine of his 12 pitches for strikes, is now 7-for-7 in save opportunities this season while pitching to a 3.63 ERA across 17.1 innings in 17 appearances.

Johnson struck out three of the four batters he faced in a scoreless 10th inning to pick up the win Tuesday in the Padres' 2-1 victory over the Rockies.

Johnson was dominant in his 16-pitch appearance. He pumped in 11 of his offerings for strikes and drew swings and misses, while four of the five balls he threw came on an intentional walk. With a 3.38 ERA and 12.8 K/9 over his 15 appearances this season, Johnson appears to be gaining the trust of manager Jayce Tingler in high-leverage spots.

Floro (2-2) took the loss Tuesday against the Phillies after allowing five runs on four hits and a walk across one-third of an inning.

Floro entered the game in the eighth inning and kicked things off by striking out Bryce Harper; however, he subsequently struggled, allowing five straight batters to reach base and giving up two runs before exiting with the bases loaded. Floro ended a streak of 12 straight scoreless appearances with this woeful performance.

Castro started and struck out a batter in a perfect first inning Tuesday in the Mets' 4-3 win over Atlanta. He didn't factor into the decision.

Rather than summoning a starter from Triple-A Syracuse to aid a banged-up rotation, the Mets opted for a bullpen game Tuesday. Castro was the first of seven pitchers to work Tuesday, getting through the opening inning unscathed before Tommy Hunter took over. Castro has posted a 3.14 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 21:8 K:BB across 14.1 innings over his 15 appearances on the season.

Martin (0-1) took the loss against the Dodgers on Tuesday, pitching five innings and allowing three runs on four hits and four walks while striking out six.

Martin's Arizona debut got off to an ominous start when Mookie Betts tagged him for a home run leading off the bottom of the first inning. However, Martin bounced back nicely, preventing any scoring over the next three frames. He then served up a two-run shot to Chris Taylor in the fifth inning, which gave the Dodgers a 3-1 lead and set Martin up for the loss. The 25-year-old struggled with his command in the outing, issuing four walks and throwing only 55 of 96 pitches for strikes, but he helped himself by striking out six batters. The right-hander will face a tough task in his next start, as he'll head to Coors Field to take on the Rockies.

Littell allowed a run on two hits and struck out one in one inning to earn a hold in Tuesday's 4-2 win over Cincinnati.

The right-hander gave up a solo home run to Nick Castellanos and a single to Tyler Naquin in the eighth inning. Littell has started to feature in high-leverage work, netting three holds in his last four outings. The homer Tuesday was the first run he's allowed in 7.2 innings, and he's added a 1.17 WHIP and 5:3 K:BB in nine appearances. The 25-year-old isn't likely to challenge for save opportunities -- Jake McGee and Tyler Rogers have filled that role for San Francisco this season.
