Edwards picked up the save Tuesday, striking out three and giving up a hit and a walk in 1.1 innings of a 6-5 win over the Cubs.

Edwards entered the game in the eighth with a runner on second and two outs and struck out Willson Contreras to end the threat. In the ninth, he allowed a single and a walk but was able to strike out Nico Hoerner to end the game. It was his first save since 2020 when he was a member of the Mariners. Nationals manager Dave Martinez used closer Kyle Finnegan in a high-leverage situation in the seventh inning, opening up the opportunity for Edwards to close out the game against his former club.

Rogers received a cortisone injection in his sore left knee over the weekend and was unavailable for Tuesday's game against the Rays, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Devin Williams was also unavailable due to a recent heavy workload, so it was Matt Bush that was called upon for the save opportunity Tuesday. Rogers has appeared in two games since joining the Brewers and has given up one run on two hits with three strikeouts and a walk over two innings. The left-hander is expected to be available in the near future, though the team could opt to hold him out again Wednesday since Milwaukee has a scheduled day off Thursday.

Dominguez picked up the save in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Marlins. He allowed struck out one batter in a scoreless ninth inning.

After a runner reached base on a Rhys Hoskins error to begin the ninth inning, Dominguez recovered with a double play and a strikeout to record his seventh save of the season. The hard-throwing righty had emerged as the top option out of the back of the bullpen for the Phillies, as six out of his seven saves have come since the beginning of July, but with David Robertson recently acquired, the closer situation has become more crowded. Because of the uncertainty for saves, Dominguez should be considered more valuable in leagues scoring saves-plus-holds, but with strong ratios, he maintains value in most formats regardless.

Treinen (shoulder) will report to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday to begin a rehab assignment, Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA reports.

Treinen pitched against live batters over the weekend and will now embark on a minor-league rehab assignment. The veteran right-hander has been sidelined by the shoulder injury since mid-April, so he'll likely require numerous rehab outings before being reinstated from the 60-day injured list.

Graterol (shoulder) will report to Triple-A Oklahoma City to begin a rehab assignment Friday, Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA reports.

Graterol progressed to facing live batters over the weekend and has now been cleared to enter the final stage of his rehab work. The 23-year-old has been on the shelf with the shoulder injury for the past month, so he should be able to rejoin the Dodgers sometime next week after a few outings with Oklahoma City.

Rodriguez (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment with the Cubs' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate Monday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

Rodriguez has been out of action since mid-April, but he resumed throwing from a mound in late July and is now ready to resume pitching in games.

Doval struck out one batter in a perfect inning and earned a save over the Padres on Monday.

Doval faced the toughest section of San Diego's lineup and had no difficulty retiring Juan Soto, Manny Machado and Josh Bell in order. The 25-year-old flamethrower has posted a 2.77 ERA while converting all seven of his save opportunities since his last blown chance May 31. On the year, Doval is sporting a 2.93 ERA and a 58:19 K:BB through 46 innings.

Beede allowed two hits and a walk over 3.2 shutout innings in Monday's loss to Arizona. He struck out two and did not factor in the decision.

It was a solid bounce back for Beede after he gave up four runs and was chased in the second inning in his last start against Milwaukee. The only extra-base hit he allowed was a two-out double by Christian Walker in the fourth inning. The 29-year-old lowered his season ERA to 3.57 with a 27:20 K:BB through 45.1 frames. As of now, Beede is projected to start in San Francisco this weekend.

Thompson (9-5) allowed one run on five hits across six innings to earn the win Monday against the Nationals. He had no walks and struck out three.

Thompson allowed a solo home run to Luke Voit in the sixth inning but was otherwise spotless. It was a nice rebound after the righty allowed five runs on 10 hits across 4.2 innings in his last start. Thompson has had some ups and down lately, though he's been mostly good this season with a 3.36 ERA and the nine wins. After making just six starts last year, the 27-year-old is now up to 15 starts this season, and he's likely secured a spot in the team's 2023 rotation. Thompson is penciled in to start again Sunday against the Reds.

Johnson (elbow) is aiming to return from the 60-day injured list in mid-to-late August after recently easing back into his throwing program following a brief shutdown period, MLB.com reports.

Johnson, who has been on the IL since late April with right elbow tightness, appeared to be trending toward throwing live batting practices coming out of the All-Star break, but the Padres pulled him off his progression after he experienced lingering soreness. He's since started to ramp up again, and he looks like he could be ready to face hitters by next week, if not within the next few days. Depending on how he fares during his eventual minor-league rehab assignment, Johnson could re-emerge as a key setup man for the Padres down the stretch.
