  • Tyson Miller RP | CHW

Brewers' Tyson Miller: Claimed by Milwaukee

Miller was claimed off waivers by the Brewers on Thursday.

Miller spent most of 2022 at Triple-A, and the Rangers opted not to keep him on the 40-man roster through the offseason. He had a 4.52 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 114:40 K:BB across 89.2 frames in the minors last year.

  • John Curtiss RP | ARI

Mets' John Curtiss: Option picked up

Curtiss (elbow) had his $775,000 team option for 2023 exercised by the Mets on Thursday, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

The 28-year-old didn't pitch in 2022 while he recovered from Tommy John surgery, and the Mets will bring him back to potentially make his team debut next year. Curtiss underwent the procedure in September 2021, so he could be fully healthy for the start of spring training.

  • Tayler Saucedo RP | LAA

    Mets' Tayler Saucedo: Joining Mets

Saucedo (hip) was claimed off waivers by the Mets on Wednesday.

Saucedo spent most of the 2022 season on the injured list due to a right hip injury but landed a role with the Mets now that the offseason is underway. It's not yet clear whether he'll be healthy for spring training in 2023.

  • Zack Littell SP | WAS

Giants' Zack Littell: Loses spot on 40-man roster

Littell was outrighted to Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday.

Littell was sent down in mid-September and will lose his spot on the team's 40-man roster now that the offseason has begun. It's possible that he serves as a non-roster invitee this spring.

  • Andrew Vasquez RP | DET

Phillies' Andrew Vasquez: Claimed off waivers

Vasquez was claimed off waivers by the Phillies on Wednesday.

Vasquez made a career-high 10 appearances in the majors between the Blue Jays and Giants last year and posted a 6.23 ERA and 1.15 WHIP in 8.2 innings. He'll likely compete for a big-league roster spot during spring training in 2023.

  • Luis Ortiz RP | NYM

Phillies' Luis Ortiz: Claimed by Phillies

Ortiz was claimed off waivers by the Phillies on Wednesday.

Ortiz made six relief appearances for the Giants in 2022 and posted a 1.04 ERA and 0.92 WHIP in 8.2 innings. He'll likely have the opportunity to compete for a big-league roster spot with the Phillies this spring.

  • Ty Blach RP | CHC

Rockies' Ty Blach: Outrighted to Triple-A

Blach was outrighted to Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday.

Blach spent the final week of the 2022 season with the big-league club, but he'll lose his spot on the 40-man roster now that the offseason is underway. It's possible that he serves as a non-roster invitee this spring.

  • Drew VerHagen RP | STL

Cardinals' Drew VerHagen: Cleared from 60-day IL

The Cardinals reinstated VerHagen (hip) from the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

VerHagen underwent surgery on his right hip in early August and may not be fully healthy yet even though he's been added back to the 40-man roster, but he should be close to 100 percent by spring training. The right-hander will be entering the second season of the two-year, $5.5 million deal he inked with St. Louis last March and will be looking to bounce back after struggling in his limited opportunities before getting the season-ending hip procedure. He made 19 appearances out of the St. Louis bullpen in 2022, logging a 6.65 ERA and 1.89 WHIP across 21.2 innings.

  • Alex Reyes RP | LAD

Cardinals' Alex Reyes: Added back to 40-man roster

The Cardinals reinstated Reyes (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

Though Reyes reclaims a spot on the 40-man roster with the transaction, his activation from the 60-day injured list doesn't necessarily indicate that he's made a full recovery from the right shoulder surgery he underwent in late May. The Cardinals haven't revealed a recovery timeline for Reyes, but there's a good chance he's limited in some capacity to begin spring training. If the 28-year-old bounces back from surgery as well as the Cardinals hope, he could re-emerge as a useful late-inning arm in 2023.

  • Cole Sulser RP | TB

Diamondbacks' Cole Sulser: Claimed by Arizona

Sulser was claimed off waivers by the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Sulser finished the season at Triple-A for the Marlins, and the organization opted not to keep him on the 40-man roster through the offseason. The 32-year-old had a 5.29 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 38:16 K:BB across 34 innings last year and should have the chance to earn a spot in Arizona's Opening Day bullpen during spring training.
