  • Zack Thompson RP | STL

Cardinals' Zack Thompson: Handed second loss

Thompson (1-2) allowed two runs on a hit and two walks with one strikeout over two-thirds of an inning, taking the loss Sunday versus the Dodgers.

Thompson got out of a mess made by starter Jake Woodford in the fourth inning, only to create trouble on his own in the fifth. Thompson allowed the first three batters to reach in the fifth, and Drew VerHagen allowed two of them to score, which put the Dodgers ahead for good. This is the third outing in a row in which Thompson's allowed multiple runs, a discouraging turn of events after he limited the damage to one unearned run in his first eight appearances. The southpaw owns a 4.63 ERA, 1.80 WHIP and 18:9 K:BB with a hold in 11.2 innings over 11 appearances.

  • Tyler Rogers RP | TOR

Giants' Tyler Rogers: Takes second straight loss

Rogers (0-2) allowed two runs on a hit and a walk with one strikeout in one-third of an inning, taking the loss versus the Padres on Sunday.

Rogers appeared in both games in Mexico City this weekend, and he took the loss in each of those contests. He put two of the three batters he faced on base Sunday, and Camilo Doval was unable to get out of the jam. Rogers now has a 2.93 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 14:4 K:BB through 15.1 innings. He'll certainly enjoy getting back to sea level soon, though a three-game stop in Houston starts Monday before the Giants are back home at pitcher-friendly Oracle Park over the weekend.

  • Camilo Doval RP | NYY

Giants' Camilo Doval: Takes first blown save

Doval was charged with a blown save Sunday versus the Padres, allowing a run on two hits while striking out one over two-thirds of an inning.

Doval allowed a runner inherited from Tyler Rogers to score in the eighth inning, and the Giants were unable to bounce back. A two-run double from Matt Carpenter also put a run on Doval's line. It's the first blown save of the season for Doval, who has also gone 1-2 with three saves through 11 appearances. He has a 3.27 ERA, but his 1.36 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB through 11 innings are at least somewhat concerning marks.

  • Evan Phillips RP | LAD

Dodgers' Evan Phillips: Secures third save

Phillips allowed one hit in a scoreless inning Sunday. He struck out one and earned a save over the Cardinals.

The Dodgers continue to deploy a closer-by-committee approach. Sunday was Phillips' first save opportunity since April 6, and he's now converted all three of his chances this season. Brusdar Graterol, who earned a save Saturday, recorded an out in the seventh inning Sunday. Phillips lowered his ERA to 2.70 with a 12:2 K:BB through 12 innings.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Tosses another scoreless inning

Iglesias (shoulder) struck out one in a perfect fourth inning during a rehab outing at Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Iglesias began the regular season on the injured list due to a shoulder strain, but he began a rehab assignment Thursday and has tossed two perfect frames over his two minor-league appearances. It's unclear when the right-hander will be activated from the IL, but manager Brian Snitker said Friday that Iglesias won't need to make back-to-back rehab appearances before rejoining the major-league club, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

  • Josh Hader RP | HOU

Padres' Josh Hader: Snares 10th save

Hader picked up the save in Sunday's 6-4 win over San Francisco. He failed to record a strikeout over one perfect inning.

Hader overcame the Mexico City altitude Sunday, posting a clean ninth inning to lock up the victory for San Diego. The save was Hader's 10th of the year, pushing him into sole possession of first place in the category. Through 12.0 innings, Hader has given up just one earned run while striking out 17.

  • A.J. Puk RP | ARI

Marlins' A.J. Puk: Grabs fifth save

Puk picked up the save in Sunday's 4-3 victory over the Cubs, tallying a strikeout in a scoreless inning.

Puk has now pitched 11 consecutive scoreless innings. He's allowed just one run this season, coming on Pete Alonso's homer on March 31. Puk is a perfect 5-for-5 in save chances with a 0.75 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 13:2 K:BB. He's firmly established himself as the full-time closer in Miami.

  • Cubs' Keegan Thompson: Suffers first loss Sunday

Thompson (1-1) allowed a run on one hit and a walk while retiring one batter to take the loss Sunday against the Marlins.

Thompson was charged with an earned run in the eighth inning, which broke a 3-3 tie, and the Marlins hung on for the 4-3 win. Despite the hiccup, Thompson has been good so far with a 1.80 ERA and 12 strikeouts across 15 innings of relief work. He should remain a key multi-inning bullpen option for the Cubs, and if a need ever arises in the rotation, he does have starting experience at the MLB level.

  • Bryan Hoeing RP | SD

Marlins' Bryan Hoeing: Solid against Cubs

Hoeing did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk over five innings in a 4-3 victory over the Cubs. He struck out four.

Sunday's start was certainly a step forward for Koenig, who allowed four runs in 3.2 innings in his first outing against Atlanta. He lowered his ERA to 6.23 through 8.2 innings with a 6:3 K:BB. Hoeing has looked good in the minors this year, pitching to a 2.08 ERA with 20:2 K:BB in three starts with Triple-A Jacksonville. He should see at least one more turn in the Marlins' rotation, with Trevor Rogers (biceps) still shut down from throwing.

  • Jordan Weems RP | LAD

Nationals' Jordan Weems: Heads back to Triple-A

The Nationals returned Weems to Triple-A Rochester following Saturday's doubleheader with the Pirates.

Weems appeared in both games of the twin bill, working 2.1 innings out of the bullpen in total and striking out three while allowing no runs on one hit and two walks. He'll now head back to Rochester but should be near the top of the list for a promotion the next time the Nationals are in need of an extra bullpen arm.
