  • Mets' Elieser Hernandez: Rehabbing in Florida State League

Hernandez (shoulder) made the third appearance of his rehab assignment with Single-A St. Lucie on Sunday, striking out one while allowing no hits and one walk over 1.1 scoreless innings.

Hernandez, who has resided on the injured list all season with a right shoulder strain, has now made three rehab appearances in the Florida State League, recording no more than four outs and throwing no more than 20 pitches in any of those outings. The 28-year-old's light usage would seem to suggest that the Mets envision him filling in a relief role once he's activated from the 60-day IL, even though Hernandez has mostly operated as a starter over parts of five seasons in the majors.

  • Dominic Leone RP | CHW

Mets' Dominic Leone: Tagged with second loss

Leone (0-2) took the loss Sunday against the Blue Jays, allowing two runs on two hits over 1.1 innings in a 6-4 defeat.

After the Mets tied the game in the sixth inning, Leone surrendered a two-run homer to Brandon Belt that would prove to be the difference in the loss. The 31-year-old Leone had been pitching well prior to Sunday, delivering four consecutive scoreless appearances while punching out seven over 4.1 innings. He now sports a 5.40 ERA with a 1.43 WHIP and 11:3 K:BB across 13.1 innings this season.

  • Dinelson Lamet RP | LAD

Rockies' Dinelson Lamet: Gets another start

Lamet is scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Giants at Coors Field.

In his return from the 15-day injured list last Wednesday for his first MLB start since 2021, Lamet lasted just three innings in a loss to Arizona, surrendering five earned runs on seven hits. On a positive note, Lamet carried over the improved control he showcased during his three-start rehab assignment at Triple-A Albuquerque, issuing no walks while striking out four. The Rockies saw enough positives from Lamet in the outing and have few attractive alternatives available for the rotation, so the right-hander will get another opportunity to try and deliver better results Tuesday.

  • Tanner Scott RP | LAD

Marlins' Tanner Scott: Snags fourth win

Scott (4-1) picked up the win in Sunday's victory over the A's, walking one batter in a scoreless eighth inning.

The southpaw kept the game tied at 5-5 in the top of the eighth, and got rewarded when the Marlins took the lead in the bottom of the frame. Scott has reeled off 11 straight scoreless appearances, shaving nearly two runs off his ERA in the process, and on the season he sports a 3.21 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 39:15 K:BB through 28 innings. He also has nine holds and two saves in addition to his wins, and with A.J. Puk (elbow) closing in on his return, Scott figures to remain in a setup role.

  • Dylan Floro RP | ARI

Marlins' Dylan Floro: Nails down sixth save

Floro struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Sunday to record his sixth save of the season in a win over the A's.

While the right-hander remains prone to implosions -- he's given up three or more runs in four of his 26 appearances this season, leading to a 4.32 ERA -- Floro is a perfect 5-for-5 in converting save chances since A.J. Puk (elbow) hit the IL. Puk was able to pitch on back-to-back days Friday and Saturday on his rehab assignment, however, which the organization viewed as the final hurdle before his activation, so Floro could be returning to a setup role very shortly.

  • Thad Ward RP | WAS

Nationals' Thad Ward: Rookie struggles continue

Ward gave up three runs on two hits and a walk in an inning of relief in Sunday's loss to the Phillies. He struck out two.

The right-hander served up a three-run homer to Kyle Schwarber in the ninth inning, but the game was already well out of reach for the Nationals. Ward has been tagged for three home runs in his last eight innings, inflating his ERA to 5.23 on the season to go along with a shaky 18.6 percent walk rate. A Rule 5 pick out of the Red Sox system, the rebuilding Nats will live with his growing pains, but Ward isn't likely to see any kind of fantasy-friendly role in 2023.

  • Ryan Brasier RP | TEX

Dodgers' Ryan Brasier: Lands with Dodgers

Brasier said Monday that he has agreed to a minor-league contract with the Dodgers, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.

After being designated for assignment by Boston on May 14 and later released, Brasier had been on the open market for about two weeks before linking up with the Dodgers. The 35-year-old right-hander will likely report to Triple-A Oklahoma City with his new organization, hoping to eventually earn a promotion to Los Angeles at some point later this summer. He turned in a 7.29 ERA and 1.57 WHIP over his 20 relief appearances with Boston this season prior to being cut loose.

  • Scott McGough RP | ATH

Diamondbacks' Scott McGough: Settling in as setup arm

McGough struck out one over a scoreless and hitless inning to earn a hold in Sunday's 8-5 loss to Atlanta.

McGough did his job in the eighth inning, but closer Miguel Castro let it slip away in the ninth. McGough faltered early in the season, but he's righted himself and back pitching in high-leverage spots. On May 6, the right-hander was 0-3 with three blown saves and a 5.87 ERA over 15.1 innings. In the same number of innings since then, McGough sports a 0.59 ERA with 20 strikeouts with just five hits allowed.

  • Ryan Weathers SP | NYY

Padres' Ryan Weathers: Chased in second inning

Weathers (1-4) allowed five runs (four earned) on seven hits and a walk over 1.2 innings Sunday, striking out one and taking a loss against the Cubs.

Weathers gave up one run in the first inning followed by four in the second, including a pair of solo homers. In four starts since returning to the big leagues, he's posted an ugly 7.79 ERA through 17.1 innings. His season ERA has ballooned up to 5.09 to go with a 23:15 K:BB. If Weathers gets another turn in the rotation, it's currently lined up to be in Colorado.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Locks down seventh save

Iglesias issued one walk in a scoreless inning to earn a save against Arizona on Sunday.

Iglesias extended his scoreless streak to 8.1 innings while earning his seventh save in eight chances this season. However, he's posted a lackluster 7:5 K:BB during that span. Iglesias dropped his ERA down to 3.09 through 11.2 frames since returning from a shoulder injury.
