Ashcraft allowed one earned run on two hits and two walks while striking out four across three innings Wednesday against the Orioles.

Mike Burrows drew the traditional start, but Ashcraft followed him into the game to work in bulk relief. He struggled to consistently hit the zone, with only 36 of his 63 pitches finding the strike zone. While he was inefficient, Ashcraft also racked up seven swinging strikes and recorded all three of his outs in the fifth inning via the strikeout. Ashcraft has a 2.72 ERA and 1.16 WHIP across 36.1 innings since the All-Star break, though most of those appearances have come either in bulk relief or shortened starts.

Agnos (elbow) was scheduled to throw from the slope of a mound Friday, MLB.com reports.

Agnos has been sidelined since the end of July with an elbow injury and is hoping to ramp up in time to return this season. It's unclear whether that will happen, but Agnos appears to be recovering well from the injury.

Halvorsen (elbow) has resumed throwing from 60 feet and is hoping to return from the injured list prior to the end of the season, MLB.com reports.

This marks Halvorsen's first notable progress since he was sidelined in early August with an elbow injury. He hopes to pitch in a game before the season is over, but Halvorsen is expected to be at full strength shortly after the campaign ends if he cannot return.

Walker allowed a hit and a walk in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Walker imploded versus the Cardinals on Saturday, and while he wasn't that sharp Tuesday, he was able to get the job done. He's converted five of six save chances over his last seven appearances, and he's been scored on in just two of 14 outings since the start of August. For the season, Walker has a 3.86 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 55:15 K:BB through 56 innings, and he's converted 15 of 20 save opportunities.

Pagan secured the save Tuesday against the Padres, striking out one in a clean ninth inning.

It was Pagan's first save of the month of September and his 27th of the year. The 34-year-old right-hander has been rather shaky of late -- he has a 5.02 ERA in 15 appearances since the start of August -- but he appears to still have the trust of manager Terry Francona as the team's closer. Through 60.2 innings, Pagan has a 3.26 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 73:20 K:BB.

Ferrer recorded one out to earn the save against Miami on Tuesday, allowing a hit without a walk or strikeout.

Ferrer came into a 7-4 game with a runner on second base. That runner would score, adding another run to Cole Henry's final line, but Ferrer would walk away with his eighth save of the year. Ferrer has now delivered 15.2 straight innings without giving up an earned run, lowering his ERA from 5.03 to 3.89 in the process. He's converted all eight of his save chances since stepping into the closer role for Washington.

Bellozo was pulled from Tuesday's game against the Nationals with right triceps tightness, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.

Bellozo gave up two hits and struck out a batter across two-plus innings out of the bullpen Tuesday before his triceps forced him out during the ninth. The severity of his injury remains unknown, though the Marlins will presumably stay away from using Bellozo in relief over the next couple of days.

The Padres optioned Jacob to Triple-A El Paso on Tuesday.

Michael King (knee) was activated from the 15-day injured list and is starting Tuesday, so Jacob was optioned to make room. Jacob made three appearances after being recalled Sept. 2, allowing one earned run on two hits with a 3:3 K:BB across 3.1 innings.

The Dodgers optioned Casparius to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

Casparius had been having a solid stretch since July 25 as he notched a 2.63 ERA across 13.2 innings in that span. However, he loses his spot on the active roster to Alex Vesia (oblique), who was activated from the 15-day injured list Tuesday.

The Dodgers reinstated Vesia (oblique) from the injured list Tuesday.

A right oblique strain has kept Vesia on the shelf since Aug. 21, though he pitched two shutout innings while striking out three batters in two rehab appearances at Triple-A Oklahoma City. Now fully healthy, the 29-year-old southpaw will reclaim a high-leverage role in the Dodgers' bullpen after posting a 2.75 ERA and 0.99 WHIP through 52.1 innings before his injury. Ben Casparius was optioned to Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.
