Cade Smith RP | CLE
Guardians' Cade Smith: Up to 18 saves
Smith earned the save in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Phillies, striking out one in a perfect ninth inning.
Smith has been rolling, converting his last 15 save chances while allowing just one earned run in his last 13.2 innings. The 27-year-old Smith leads the majors with 18 saves (in 20 chances) this season while posting a 2.45 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 37:5 K:BB across 25.2 innings.

Travis Adams RP | MIN
Twins' Travis Adams: Secures one-out save
Adams earned the save against the Red Sox on Sunday, retiring the only batter he faced in the ninth inning.
Adams entered with a one-run lead, two outs and runners on the corners in the ninth inning and escaped the jam on just one pitch to earn his first career save. The 26-year-old has now posted three straight scoreless outings after yielding three earned runs over his first two appearances. He owns a 3.38 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 9:3 K:BB across eight innings and is the 11th Twins pitcher to record a save in 2026.

Connor Seabold RP | KC
Tigers' Connor Seabold: Cast off 40-man roster
The Tigers designated Seabold for assignment Sunday.
Seabold will give up his spot on the 40-man roster to right-hander Troy Melton (elbow), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list to start the second game of Sunday's doubleheader in Baltimore. Through 11 relief appearances with the Tigers this season, Seabold has posted a 3.45 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 14:5 K:BB in 15.2 innings. If Seabold isn't claimed off waivers, he'll have the option of electing free agency in lieu of accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A Toledo.

Kenley Jansen RP | DET
Tigers' Kenley Jansen: Blows another save Sunday
Jansen (1-3) allowed three runs on a hit and two walks across an inning of work to blow the save and take the loss in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Orioles.
With Baltimore mounting a rally in the bottom of the eighth inning, Jansen was called on with two outs to face Pete Alonso. The veteran reliever got the slugger out on three pitches, but he had a much harder time when he came back out for the ninth. Jansen walked two batters before allowing a walkoff, three-run home run to Colton Cowser in a 5-3 loss. The setback was Jansen's fourth blown save already in 11 opportunities this year, and it raised his ERA from 3.38 to 5.02. Jansen is third all time and leads all active players with 483 career saves, but with Kyle Finnegan pitching much better out of Detroit's bullpen at the moment, the Tigers could consider a change in the closer role.

Jose Suarez RP | ATH
Athletics' Jose Suarez: Effective in 2.2 relief frames
Suarez allowed a hit and a walk while striking out four over 2.2 scoreless innings in Saturday's 2-0 loss to the Padres.
With starter J.T. Ginn struggling to find the zone, Suarez entered in the third inning and allowed an inherited baserunner to score, but he was able to settle in and keep the Padres from extending their lead for the remainder of his outing. The southpaw's four strikeouts marked his highest total through four appearances with the Athletics and his second-highest mark of the campaign. Across 13 outings between Atlanta, Seattle and the Athletics, Suarez owns a 6.17 ERA, 1.97 WHIP and 30:16 K:BB in 23.1 innings.

Ricky Vanasco RP | DET
Tigers' Ricky Vanasco: Back with big club
The Tigers recalled Vanasco from Triple-A Toledo on Sunday.
Detroit had optioned Vanasco to Triple-A on May 15, but he'll make a quick return after left-hander Brant Hurter (spine) was placed on the injured list in a corresponding move. Vanasco yielded eight runs (seven earned) on 10 hits and four walks over 4.1 innings across his first four appearances of the season and will likely be used in a lower-leverage role.

Brant Hurter RP | DET
Tigers' Brant Hurter: Shelved with spine inflammation
The Tigers placed Hurter on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to lumbar spine inflammation.
Hurter was lifted from his most recent relief appearance Friday due to what manager A.J. Hinch referred to as a back issue, and follow-up tests revealed that the lefty reliever was contending with lumbar inflammation. Detroit recalled Ricky Vanasco from Triple-A Toledo to replace Hurter in the bullpen.

Drew Sommers RP | DET
Tigers' Drew Sommers: Summoned from minors as 27th man
The Tigers appointed Summers from Triple-A Toledo to serve as their 27th man for Sunday's doubleheader versus the Orioles.
He's expected to return to Toledo following the twin bill. Sommers made four appearances out of the Tigers bullpen in 2025 but has worked exclusively at Triple-A so far the season, posting a 3.10 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 33:11 K:BB across 20.1 innings.

Peyton Pallette RP | CHW
Guardians' Peyton Pallette: DFA'd by Cleveland
The Guardians designated Pallette for assignment Sunday.
A Rule 5 Draft pick this past winter, Pallete must go unclaimed off waivers and be offered to the White Sox before the Guardians can outright the right-hander to the minors. Over 20.2 innings out of the Cleveland bullpen this season, Pallette posted a 5.23 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 22:16 K:BB. The Guardians recalled left-hander Logan Allen from Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding move.

Tyler Samaniego RP | BOS
Red Sox's Tyler Samaniego: Sent back to Triple-A
The Red Sox optioned Samaniego to Triple-A Worcester on Sunday.
After he worked in relief the previous two days and with the Red Sox needing to clear room for Danny Coulombe (neck) to return from the injured list, Samaniego became a roster casualty. Samaniego has posted a 1.04 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 13:7 K:BB in 17.1 innings this season and shouldn't have to wait long for his next call-up to the big leagues.
