  • Nick Burdi RP | NYM

Red Sox's Nick Burdi: Sent back to Worcester

The Red Sox optioned Burdi to Triple-A Worcester on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old right-hander appeared in two games for the Red Sox after being selected from Triple-A last Friday. He didn't allow an earned run on four hits across 2.1 innings.

  • Kade Strowd P | ARI

Orioles' Kade Strowd: Optioned to Triple-A

The Orioles optioned Strowd to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.

He's exiting the roster to make room for Chayce McDermott, who has been recalled to serve as the team's primary pitcher in Tuesday's game against the Brewers. Strowd made one appearance during his brief time in the majors, allowing one run over an inning of work.

  • Casey Lawrence RP | SEA

Mariners' Casey Lawrence: Poised for bulk relief

Lawrence is expected to be called up from Triple-A Tacoma to serve as a bulk reliever in Tuesday's game versus the White Sox, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.

Lawrence is already in Chicago on the taxi squad and will be officially added to the roster before game time. The veteran swingman has made five relief appearances between the Mariners and Blue Jays this season, allowing 14 runs (seven earned) with a 5:1 K:BB across 12.2 frames.

  • Mariners' Casey Legumina: Serving as opener Tuesday

Legumino will serve as the Mariners' opening pitcher in Tuesday's game against the White Sox, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.

He'll likely go an inning or two before handing things off to bulk reliever Casey Lawrence. Legumina has managed a 1.84 ERA in 15 relief appearances for the Mariners this season, although that has come with eight walks over 14.2 innings.

  • Zach Fruit RP | BAL

Orioles' Zach Fruit: Shelved at Double-A

Double-A Chesapeake placed Fruit on the 7-day injured list April 23 with a lat strain, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Fruit made waves during spring training by regularly touching triple digits with his fastball, but things unraveled quickly in his first exposure to Double-A. He logged a 10.13 ERA, 2.00 WHIP and 7:6 K:BB in eight innings across three starts before landing on the shelf.

  • Justin Wilson RP | BOS

Red Sox's Justin Wilson: Earns win Monday

Wilson (2-0) allowed one hit and one walk while striking out one over one scoreless inning to earn the win Tuesday against the Mets.

Wilson entered for starter Hunter Dobbins with two outs in the fifth inning and runners at the corners. The lefty was brought in to face the switch-hitting Francisco Lindor, who hits righties (.893 OPS) much better than lefties (.574). The result was an epic 10-pitch at-bat that ended with Lindor's whiff on Wilson's eighth slider. The reliever's been quietly effective for the Red Sox, posting a 2.35 ERA over 15.1 innings and not allowing a run over his last nine appearances.

  • Hector Neris RP | HOU

Angels' Hector Neris: Tosses scoreless frame

Neris (finger) struck out one during a scoreless inning in Monday's 4-3 victory over the Athletics.

Neris has been dealing with a blister on his pitching hand since Saturday, so it was good to see him deliver a strong outing on the way to Monday's win. He got through the eighth inning with ease, firing seven of his nine pitches for strikes. The team will presumably check in on the right-hander Tuesday morning to see how he bounces back from Monday's relief appearance.

  • Kenley Jansen RP | DET

Angels' Kenley Jansen: Locks down ninth save

Jansen allowed a hit and struck out one over a scoreless inning to earn the save in Monday's 4-3 win over the Athletics.

Jansen has kept runs off the board in his last three outings, spanning 3.1 innings. The veteran closer was able to picked up his ninth save of the season Monday, and his second save in three days, with a 16-pitch outing. He remains a perfect 9-for-9 in save chances while pitching to a 5.02 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 13:3 K:BB over 14.1 innings.

  • Royals' Carlos Estevez: Secures save Monday

Estevez allowed a hit and struck out one over a scoreless inning to earn the save in Monday's 3-1 win over the Giants.

Estevez earned his second save in as many days in this outing. He's logged 4.2 scoreless innings since allowing a run in one inning versus the White Sox on May 7. Estevez continues to hold things down in the closer role for the Royals, posting a 2.08 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 19:10 K:BB over 21.2 innings while converting 14 of 16 save chances. His walk rate has ticked back up toward the high end of his career range this year after he had trimmed it down to 2.0 BB/9 in the 2024 regular season, so he'll need to be careful when navigating traffic on the basepaths.

  • Red Sox's Aroldis Chapman: Secures seventh save

Chapman earned the save in Monday's 3-1 win against the Mets, allowing one hit and no walks in a scoreless inning with one strikeout.

The veteran southpaw succinctly retired the side on seven pitches, six of which were strikes, en route to his 342nd career save. Chapman continues to be a reliable source of strikeouts (13.0 K/9) despite struggling with walks (3.5 BB/9). Through 18 innings, the 37-year-old now sports a 2.00 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 26:7 K:BB while going a perfect 7-for-7 on save opportunities.
