  • Daniel Norris RP | CLE

Tigers' Daniel Norris: Allows one run in no-decision

Norris pitched five innings of one-run ball but took a no-decision in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Royals. He allowed six hits and two walks, while striking out three.

Norris allowed plenty of baserunners in his five innings of work, but he mostly pitched well, though he received just one run of support while he was in the game. The damage came on an Adalberto Mondesi solo home run in the first inning. Norris is slated to make his final start of the season on Saturday against the Brewers, and he'll look to build on this encouraging effort.

  • Ryan Borucki RP | SF

Blue Jays' Ryan Borucki: Strikes out seven in loss

Borucki (4-5) took the loss Sunday, allowing two runs on three hits and four walks while striking out seven over seven innings.

Borucki was solid once again, limiting the opposition to two runs or fewer for his fourth straight start. He was nicked for RBI doubles in the fourth and sixth innings, which were enough to saddle him with the defeat. The 24-year-old has a 3.76 ERA and 1.31 WHIP for the season and lines up to face these same Rays on the road in his final start of 2018.

  • Ryan Yarbrough RP | NYY

Rays' Ryan Yarbrough: To throw bulk of innings Monday

Yarbrough will throw most of the innings in Monday's game against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Diego Castillo will start the game before ceding to Yarbrough after an innings or two. Yarbrough has allowed seven runs in 9.2 innings over his last three appearances but has a respectable 3.38 ERA in 139.1 innings on the season -- along with a whopping 15 wins, the biggest fallout of this new role.

  • Evan Phillips RP | LAD

Orioles' Evan Phillips: Shut down for season

Phillips won't pitch again in the final week of the season, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Phillips apparently reached his innings limit for the season as he has thrown 63 innings between Triple-A (Norfolk and the Braves' Gwinnett) and the majors in 2018. The 24-year-old allowed 13 runs (11 earned) over 5.1 innings with the Orioles, but had a 2.28 ERA and 0.99 WHIP combined at Triple-A.

  • Blake Treinen RP | LAD

Athletics' Blake Treinen: Notches second straight win

Treinen (9-2) allowed a hit and recorded a strikeout over a scoreless ninth inning in a win over the Twins on Saturday.

Treinen became the pitcher of record for the second straight night when Stephen Piscotty scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth. The 30-year-old's sterling win-loss record is just another component of a thoroughly dominant season that's seen him post career bests in ERA (0.81), WHIP (0.83), wins (nine) and strikeouts (96). Also of note is the fact Treinen has kept the ball in the park at the best rate of his major-league tenure, with his 0.2 HR/9 also qualifying as a high-water mark.

  • Joe Jimenez RP | ATL

Tigers' Joe Jimenez: Blows save but grabs win against Royals

Jimenez (5-4) allowed a run on two hits in Saturday's game against the Royals to register a blown save, but he picked up the win when the Tigers scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth.

While the win is nice, the poor outing continued a disturbing trend for Jimenez since he made his first All-Star Game appearance in July. In the second half, the 23-year-old reliever has a 7.58 ERA, and his season ERA has climbed from 2.72 to 4.21 in the process. The Tigers likely want Jimenez to step into the closer's role at some point, but his rough finish to the season has cast some doubt on his readiness for finishing games.

  • Jaime Barria RP | CLE

Angels' Jaime Barria: Solid in no-decision against Astros

Barria didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 10-5 loss to the Astros, allowing one run on four hits and three walks over five innings while striking out three.

Despite the strong outing, he was actually in line for the loss, as Justin Verlander was absolutely brilliant for Houston opposite him, but Barria was taken off the hook when both bullpens suffered meltdowns in the eighth inning. The 22-year-old will carry a 3.54 ERA into his final start of the year Friday at home against the Athletics.

  • Jakob Junis RP | TEX

Royals' Jakob Junis: Rebounds with quality start in no-decision

Junis did not factor into the decision against the Tigers on Saturday but logged a quality start, giving up three runs, eight hits and a walk while striking out five over six innings.

The right-hander has struck out at least five batters in nine of his past 10 outings and has thrown four quality starts in his last five. He has struck out 8.4 batters per nine innings and walked just 2.2, which helps with a fantasy team's WHIP category. Unfortunately, Junis has allowed 1.68 HR/9, which has fueled a less-helpful 4.42 ERA, despite his run of success lately. The generally contact-leaning hurler faces a bleak outlook in his schedule home clash with Cleveland on Friday.

  • Ken Giles RP | ATL

Blue Jays' Ken Giles: Logs 24th save

Giles struck out one and worked around a walk to pitch a scoreless inning and get the save Saturday against the Rays.

Giles walked Ji-Man Choi with one out but recorded a strikeout and groundout to protect a three-run lead and wrap up his 24th save of the season. Since the Astros shipped him to Toronto, the right-hander has a 4.58 ERA with 12 saves, 19 strikeouts and four walks across 17.2 frames. Giles looks like he'll have the chance to enter the 2019 season as Toronto's unquestioned stopper.

  • Tommy Kahnle RP | BOS

Yankees' Tommy Kahnle: Notches win in extra innings

Kahnle (2-0) registered the win in extra innings Saturday, working around a hit to strike out a batter in a scoreless frame.

The right-hander has allowed at least one run in three of his last five outings while working in low-leverage spots, but Kahnle came through in this one to preserve a tie before the Yankees won it in the 11th. This victory did little to clean up his 6.75 ERA on the season, though.
