The Orioles announced Saturday that they are putting Armstrong on the 10-day injured list with back soreness, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.

Armstrong hasn't pitched since last Saturday, when he gave up a run on two hits and a walk in just one-third of an inning against Boston. He will be eligible to return Sept. 5 as the transaction is retroactive to Aug. 26. The Orioles called up Evan Phillips in a corresponding move.

Romano (finger) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet 590 The Fan reports.

Romano was pulled from Friday's game against the Orioles with a right middle finger injury which reportedly "went numb" during his outing. He underwent an MRI on Saturday but has yet to receive results. With Romano unavailable, Anthony Bass figures to reassume his role as the team's closer for the time being.

Beeks (elbow) will have Tommy John surgery on Sept. 2, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Beeks was transferred to the 45-day injured list Wednesday with a left elbow sprain and now has to go under the knife. Beeks will more than likely miss the entire 2021 season while rehabbing although a potential return late in the year could technically still be an option. The left-hander had a 3.26 ERA while recording two holds and one save over 19.1 innings out of the bullpen.

Yarbrough (groin) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Yarbrough exited Friday's game with left groin tightness, an issue that manager Kevin Cash said had been bothering him for some time. Cash didn't sound too concerned about the issue after Friday's game, but he'll be sidelined at least 10 days as a result. It's unclear who will take the left-hander's place in the starting rotation.

Athletics manager Bob Melvin confirmed that Puk (shoulder) will throw again Monday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Puk has been steadily ramping up his throwing program over the last month and Monday's session could serve as his final tuneup before an official return to the 28-man roster. A further update on Puk's situation should be provided following the completion of his Monday outing.

Bummer has progressed to playing catch at the team's alternate training site, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Bummer has been on the injured list since Aug. 8 with left biceps soreness, so the report that he is starting to throw is encouraging in terms of his rehab progress. There is still no timeline for his official return, and one likely won't be set until he starts throwing off a mound.

Green (2-2) took the loss and blown save in Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader against the Mets, pitching one inning and allowing three runs on three hits -- all home runs -- while striking out two.

Green was summoned with a pair of runners aboard in the sixth inning and asked to protect a three-run lead. That advantage disappeared quickly, as Pete Alonso crushed a homer to center field to tie the game. Green retired the next two batters but then yielded consecutive solo shots to Dominic Smith and Jake Marisnick. Prior to Wednesday, Green had given up only one run in 12.2 frames this season; over his last two appearances, however, he has been torched for four homers and five total runs in two innings. His ERA has consequently risen to 3.68.

Fairbanks (4-1) struck out one over 1.1 scoreless innings to get the win against Miami on Friday.

Fairbanks entered with two outs in the seventh inning after Ryan Yarbrough (groin) was unable to continue due to groin tightness. Fairbanks hit Jorge Alfaro with a pitch but was otherwise perfect Friday, and he has not allowed an earned run in 7.1 innings while racking up 11 strikeouts over that span. The Rays bullpen is decimated by injuries, so look for Fairbanks to continue to receive the ball late in games.

Colome (1-0) blew a save but earned the win Friday against the Royals. He allowed an unearned run on one hit and one walk over 1.1 innings.

Colome was a victim of an odd play in the top of the ninth when a rundown led to a throwing error that allowed the Royals to tie the game. He was credited with the win when Yasmani Grandal belted a walkoff home run. Colome had been perfect in six save chances prior to his first blown save Friday.

Lopez allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out four over four innings in Friday's no-decision against the Royals.

Lopez made his second start since coming off the injured list and upped his pitch count from 50 to 70. It's unclear if the eight baserunners were the reason for his departure, or if 70 was a set pitch count. Lopez's next outing comes Wednesday on the road against Minnesota.
