The Orioles placed Tate on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a left hamstring strain.

Tate has worked in middle relief for Baltimore this season, picking up two holds while posting a 3.46 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 6:2 K:BB in 13 innings over 11 appearances. Rather than replacing Tate on the active roster with another reliever, Baltimore elected to recall outfielder Ryan McKenna from Triple-A Norfolk in a corresponding move.

Hentges and Cleveland won't face Cincinnati on Sunday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather.

The two teams will make up the game Aug. 9. Hentges was scheduled to make his third career MLB start Sunday after he was battered for five runs (four earned) on 11 hits and two walks over 6.1 innings in his first two outings. Due to his poor results and his standing as Cleveland's No. 5 starter, Hentges could be pushed to the back of the team's pitching schedule heading into the upcoming week.

Scrubb threw 1.2 scoreless innings in Saturday's 8-4 loss to Toronto.

Scrubb retired all five batters faced and provided space for Houston's bats to overcome a 5-0 deficit in what was his longest outing of the season. The right-hander has retired nine consecutive batters.

Duffey (0-2) was tagged with the loss Saturday against the Tigers after allowing four runs on three hits and a walk across two-thirds of an inning.

Duffey didn't have his best stuff in this game, as he only tossed 12 of his 23 pitches for strikes and was unable to slow down the Tigers' offense. Duffey ended a streak of four straight appearances without an earned run and did it in the worst possible way, allowing season-worst marks in several categories such as runs allowed and hits allowed, while also failing to strike out an opponent for the third time over his last four appearances.

Fulmer (2-2) earned the win in relief Saturday against the Twins after pitching 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and one walk while fanning three.

Fulmer recorded the final two outs of the fifth inning and cruised until the end of the seventh, allowing just two baserunners and tossing 28 of his 47 pitches for strikes. Fulmer has started in four of his 10 appearances but has been effective as a reliever so far. He has gone five straight appearances allowing two or fewer runs and has now recorded two straight scoreless appearances.

Trivino picked up his sixth save of the season Saturday against the Rays after giving up one hit and one walk while fanning two across 1.1 innings.

Trivino was coming off a woeful performance in his previous outing, but he bounced back here. The 29-year-old right-hander was called upon in the eighth with one out and struck out Mike Brosseau to end the inning, but things got a bit more complicated in the ninth -- he loaded the bases with no outs. However, he still found a way to get the job done. Trivino is now 6-for-7 in save chances and should remain as one of the Athletics' top options for saves.

Lowther (0-1) took the loss Saturday as the Orioles were trounced 11-6 by the Red Sox, surrendering seven runs on seven hits and two walks over 2.1 innings. He struck out three.

The rookie lefty got through the first inning of his first big-league start unscathed, but things went downhill rapidly for Lowther after that. He tossed 40 of 65 pitches before getting the hook, and Baltimore may consider other options rather than give the 25-year-old another turn in the rotation.

Manager Charlie Montoyo confirmed Pearson will be recalled from Triple-A Buffalo to start Sunday at Houston, Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star reports.

The 24-year-old took the mound Opening Day for Buffalo on Tuesday and allowed one run with eight strikeouts over 3.2 innings, and he'll join Toronto for his next start after missing the start of the season with a groin issue. Pearson threw 78 pitches during that outing and shouldn't face any significant limitations in his season debut for the Blue Jays.

Swanson allowed one run on two hits and a walk over 2.2 innings in Saturday's loss to the Rangers. He did not record a strikeout or factor into the decision.

The 27-year-old threw 30 of his 45 pitches for strikes and now will look to build up manager Scott Servais' trust in order to earn a longer leash in a rotation that may call up some young arms as the season progresses. Swanson will more than likely open for two to three innings in his next appearance and now has a 1.35 ERA and 0.60 WHIP on the season.

Rodriguez (shoulder) is expected to return from the injured list when first eligible May 16 after testing came back clean Saturday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Any injury is a particular worry for the young righty, who threw just 9.1 innings from 2018 through 2020 due to back issues and the canceled 2020 minor-league season. This particular issue doesn't appear to be a major one, however, and has given the Angels the opportunity to limit his workload. He's looked quite good despite jumping from High-A to the big leagues this season, as his 26.2 percent strikeout rate and 67.6 percent groundball rate have helped him to a 2.30 ERA in 15.2 innings of relief.
