Santiago was ejected in the bottom of the fifth inning during Sunday's game against the White Sox because of a foreign substance on his glove, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. He allowed one run on three hits and two walks before departing.

Santiago becomes the first pitcher to get tossed under the new foreign substance rules that were instituted last week. While the southpaw will likely appeal, as of now he'll be suspended for the next 10 games, during which the Mariners will be forced to play with just 25 players.

Quijada was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake prior to Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.

Quijada got roughed up in his lone appearance during his latest stint in the majors, allowing five runs on three hits and two walks in just one-third of an inning Saturday. He'll return to Salt Lake for the time being, with Dillon Peters set to take his spot in the bullpen.

Peters was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.

Peters briefly joined the Angels in mid-May but did not make an appearance before being sent back to Salt Lake. The reliever has posted a 5.52 ERA and 40:8 K:BB across 31 Triple-A innings and will now join the Angels bullpen.

Ramirez was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma prior to Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Ramirez will rejoin the 26-man roster as Marco Gonzales was placed on the paternity list. The Mariners haven't announced who will start in place of Gonzales during the seven-inning game that will follow the suspended contest from Saturday, but Ramirez could be an option to log multiple innings. The right-hander has made two big-league appearances this season, punching out four while allowing three runs across four innings.

Scrubb was optioned back to Triple-A Sugar Land after serving as Houston's 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader against the Tigers.

Scrubb did not appear in either game of the twin bill and will now head back to Sugar Land for the time being. The right-hander figures to be a top candidate to rejoin the Houston bullpen if the club finds itself in need of another relief arm.

Cisnero pitched a clean inning with two strikeouts to earn the save in Game 1 of a doubleheader against the Astros on Saturday.

After Casey Mize allowed just one run across six innings, Cisnero came in for the seventh and shut the door against his former team in the first game of the twin bill. It was his third save of the season in four opportunities, and he's been effective overall with a 3.00 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 41 strikeouts across 33 innings. With Michael Fulmer (neck) landing on the 10-day injured list after Saturday's nightcap, Cisnero is likely to see more save opportunities in the short term, though Gregory Soto is also squarely in the mix.

Fulmer was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a right cervical spine strain in his neck.

Fulmer was shaky in his outing against Houston in the second half of Saturday's twin bill, allowing back-to-back homers to Yordan Alvarez and Carlos Correa to blow a 2-0 lead. It's not clear if the neck issue arose Saturday or if Fulmer has been managing the problem for longer, but he'll be on the shelf for at least the next 10 days. Miguel Del Pozo was recalled from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding roster move.

Ottavino allowed one earned run on two hits and a walk while striking out one across 1.1 innings to earn the save in the win over the Yankees on Saturday.

Ottavino notched the four-out save despite giving up a run in the ninth inning on a DJ LeMahieu RBI single. The 35-year-old is the backup closer behind Matt Barnes, but Barnes was unavailable Saturday after pitching in the previous two games. Ottavino has a solid 2.81 ERA and 38 strikeouts with five saves and 14 holds in 32 innings. He's allowed just one run over his last seven appearances.

Wells allowed a hit and two walks across two scoreless innings in Saturday's 12-4 loss to Toronto.

While Keegan Akin and Konner Wade combined to allow 12 runs in six innings, Wells' major-league debut went relatively smooth. The 24-year-old posted a 5.63 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 27:4 K:BB across 32 innings with Triple-A Norfolk, but his FIP of 4.22 indicates he had some poor luck. Wells could be an option to start, or at least open, a game while Bruce Zimmermann (biceps) and John Means (shoulder) remain sidelined.

Pressly struck out the side in one inning of work to nail down the save against Detroit on Saturday.

Pressly continued his outstanding month of June, striking out Harold Castro, Zack Short and Akil Baddoo in the seventh to secure a doubleheader split for the Astros. The 32-year-old closer has yet to allow an earned run in eight innings this month and has converted all five of his save opportunities. In 29 appearances overall this season, Pressly is 4-1 with 12 saves (in 13 chances), along with a 1.74 ERA and 0.90 WHIP across 31 innings. He's fanned 38 while walking only five.
