Canterino (elbow) returned from the injured list Saturday, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.

Canterino had been out since May with a strained right elbow. Prior to suffering the injury, he'd looked great in four starts for High-A Cedar Rapids, allowing just two earned runs in 18 innings while striking out an incredible 51.5 percent of the batters he faced.

Chapman (elbow) is traveling with the Yankees on their current road trip, and the the team is hopeful that he can be activated when first eligible to come off the IL early next week, per MLB.com.

Chapman underwent an MRI last weekend, and the results showed no structural damage to his left elbow. As such, there is hope that the discomfort that sent him to the injured list is not an indication of a significant injury. Chapman's replacements have largely struggled since the veteran closer last pitched Aug. 5, with each of Chad Green, Jonathan Loaisiga and Zack Britton suffering at least one blown save over that span.

Lowther (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment in the Florida Complex League on Monday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Lowther has been out since late July with a strained left shoulder. He's made five major-league appearances this season and seven in the minors, so it's far from guaranteed that he'll be called up once healthy.

Zimmermann (biceps) won't return Sunday as previously expected after spraining his ankle while exercising, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Biceps tendinitis has sidelined Zimmermann for more than two months. He was on the verge of a return before suffering the setback in a training-room accident. Exactly how serious of a setback the sprain is remains to be seen. Keegan Akin will get the nod Sunday against Boston.

Pearson (groin) will start for Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

The righty isn't expected to have a long outing as he prepares to join Toronto's bullpen in the near future. In recent simulated games, Pearson has sat high-90's with his fastball, a sign that he's feeling good and may not need a ton of rehab work. The date of his next appearance should become clear after he recovers from Saturday's game.

The Rays designated Phillips for assignment Saturday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Having pitched three innings Friday in his season debut, the 26-year-old heads to the minors to make room for a fresh arm in Adam Conley. Given his success during the three-inning save, Phillips could certainly find himself back with the Rays in a long-relief role before the season ends.

Texas manager Chris Woodward said King (shoulder) is expected to rejoin the team soon, Joseph Hoyt of the Dallas Morning News reports.

King made a second rehab appearance Friday for Triple-A Round Rock, striking out two over a scoreless relief inning. He's made two one-inning appearances for the Express, which is a departure from his usage prior to the injury. King averaged nearly two innings per outing and had been gearing up to enter the rotation at the time of his injury.

Cimber (2-4) took the loss in Friday's 3-2 contest against the Mariners, allowing one run on a hit and two walks with a strikeout in two-thirds of an inning.

Cimber entered a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the ninth and retired the first two Mariners he faced before permitting three straight baserunners and being removed. Brad Hand came in and walked Jarred Kelenic on four pitches to make Cimber the loser. Despite two losses in his last three appearances, the submariner has a 1.08 ERA in 17 innings with Toronto since coming over from Miami in late June.

Pressly pitched a perfect inning Friday, striking out one batter to notch the save against the Angels.

The closer entered the game without a save -- or a save opportunity -- since July 25. He finally found a path to his 19th save of the campaign by securing a three-run Houston victory with a perfect frame during which he threw seven of 10 pitches for strikes. Pressly's job security as closer is among the most airtight in the league given his 1.88 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 61:9 K:BB across 48 innings this season.

Phillips allowed a run on three hits over three innings in Friday's win over the Twins, striking out two and picking up a save.

Phillips was able to finish the final three innings of a 10-4 win in his season debut after he was promoted from Triple-A Durham on Thursday. The lone run he allowed came via Brent Rooker's solo shot in the seventh. The 26-year-old righty entered Friday's game with a career 7.50 ERA through 48 MLB appearances and he likely won't see too many save chances down the stretch.
