Borucki will begin serving a two-game suspension Friday, Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic reports.

Borucki was initially suspended three games for intentionally hitting Kevin Kiermaier with a pitch Wednesday, but he appealed and received a reduced punishment. He'll be unavailable for the next two games but will be back in Toronto's bullpen for Sunday's series finale in Minnesota.

Akin was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a left adductor strain.

Akin lined up for two more starts during the final week of the regular season, but he'll instead be shut down and is scheduled to undergo surgery during the offseason, per Joe Trezza of MLB.com. The left-hander doesn't have a specific timeline for his recovery but is expected to be ready for spring training in February. The 26-year-old finished 2021 with a 6.63 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 82:40 K:BB over 95 innings.

Sandlin (shoulder) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Friday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

The transaction officially ends Sandlin's season, as he hit the 10-day injured list with a strained right shoulder in mid-August. He'll finish his rookie season with a strong 2.94 ERA and 34.0 percent strikeout rate in 33.2 innings, though the shoulder issue could be something to worry about heading into next season.

Perez was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Friday, Ryan Lewis of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Perez rejoined the big club Sept. 12 and wound up tossing 5.1 scoreless frames across three appearances. Despite his recent success, he'll return to Columbus with Shane Bieber (shoulder) and Amed Rosario (COVID-19 protocols) both being activated Friday.

Brash could be called up from Double-A Arkansas to start a game during next week's series against the Athletics should Seattle decide to remove Yusei Kikuchi from the rotation, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Manager Scott Servais was non-committal when asked if Kikuchi would make his next scheduled start Tuesday after the southpaw failed to work into the fourth inning Thursday against the A's. While there's still a strong chance Kikuchi remains in the rotation for the season's final week, Brash has emerged as a surprising candidate to take his spot if Seattle decides to go in a different direction. The 23-year-old right-hander has posted an impressive 2.13 ERA and even 1.00 WHIP while striking out 80 batters in 55 innings with Double-A Arkansas this season. Nonetheless, he would be making a sizable jump if he's promoted to the majors, as he's yet to pitch in Triple-A.

Warren (2-0) earned the win in relief Thursday against the Astros after tossing 1.1 scoreless innings, allowing one walk and fanning one.

Warren recorded the final out of the sixth inning and pitched the entire seventh, needing just 19 pitches to get the job done. While he missed nearly a month between late August and late September after landing on the COVID-19 IL, it's worth noting he hasn't allowed a run in any of his last eight appearances.

Iglesias picked up the save Thursday against the Astros despite allowing one run on two hits. He struck out the side.

Iglesias allowed a two-out homer to Jason Castro in the bottom of the ninth and allowed a single to Jose Altuve in the next at-bat, but he bounced back and struck out Jose Siri to end the game before things got any more complicated. He tossed 17 of his 23 pitches for strikes en route to his 33rd save of the season, and the star reliever also owns a strong 2.69 ERA on the year. He's allowed a modest two earned runs through 7.0 September innings, while the home run was his first allowed since Aug. 12.

Clase (4-5) allowed one unearned run on three hits while striking out one across one inning, getting the win in Game 2 of Thursday's doubleheader against the White Sox.

Clase allowed three straight singles before Gavin Sheets scored on a throwing error by Yu Chang. He blew Cleveland's lead, but the team walked it off in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Clase the win. It was his first blown save since July 16. The 23-year-old has a 1.35 ERA and 0.99 WHIP with 71 strikeouts in 66.2 innings this season.

Otto (0-3) took the loss in Thursday's 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Orioles, allowing two runs on five hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in five innings.

Coming off two disaster starts, Otto got back on track against Baltimore and needed just 81 pitches to navigate five innings. The 25-year-old wore down a bit after delivering three scoreless frames, permitting a single run in both the fourth and fifth innings, which could've prompted manager Chris Woodward to pull Otto despite the reasonable pitch count. The seven strikeout's tie Otto's career high set in his first start, and he's projected for another start next week versus the Angels.

Lowther (1-2) got the win in Thursday's 3-0 victory over Texas, allowing three hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in five scoreless innings.

Facing the scuffling Rangers, Lowther parlayed five solid innings into his first Major-League win. While he required 94 pitches to navigate the five frames, he notched seven strikeouts and had minimal traffic on the bases in the best outing of the 25-year-old rookie's short career. He's currently scheduled to take the hill against the Red Sox next week.
