Staumont walked two and struck out two over 1.1 scoreless innings to earn a hold in Friday's 3-1 win over Detroit.

The right-hander got the last out of the seventh inning after Jake Brentz struggled. Staumont then worked out of his own jam in the eighth to record his 15th hold of the season. The 27-year-old has added five saves and a 3-3 record across 61 appearances while logging a 3.03 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 69:27 K:BB as a reliable high-leverage option.

Tapia (4-0) allowed a run on two hits and a walk in one inning, earning the win Friday versus Detroit.

The right-hander took a blown save when he allowed a game-tying RBI single to Eric Haase in the sixth inning, but Kansas City restored its lead in the seventh. Tapia saw his 13-inning scoreless streak end Friday, but he's still given up just three runs with a 20:11 K:BB in 25.2 innings since the start of August. He owns a 1.76 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 25:13 K:BB over 30.2 innings overall while gradually working into more high-leverage spots.

Stephan (3-1) took the loss Friday, allowing one run on two hits with three strikeouts in two innings versus the White Sox.

The 25-year-old gave up the only run in the game on a Luis Robert solo home run in the fifth inning. Stephan's ratios aren't great this year (4.62 ERA, 1.43 WHIP), but Friday's loss was the first he's taken in 41 appearances. He's added a save and two holds, but he's also posted a 5.58 FIP, which indicates he's gotten a little lucky. Expect the right-hander to finish the year in a low-leverage role.

Herget (2-2) allowed two runs (one earned) on one hit while striking out one and recording just one out to take the loss to the Mariners on Friday.

Herget entered the game with two outs and runners on the corners in the sixth inning. He got out of the inning without letting any runs score, but in the seventh he allowed the first two runners to reach base and eventually score. He has allowed three runs in 10.1 innings over 10 appearances in September. The 27-year-old has a 3.94 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with 18 strikeouts in 16 innings this season.

Sewald pitched a scoreless ninth inning, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out one to earn the save in the win over the Angels on Friday.

Sewald entered the ninth inning with a one-run lead. He intentionally walked two batters and gave up a double to load the bases with one out. However, he had a crucial strikeout against Jack Mayfield and managed to get out of the inning to secure his save and the win. This was Sewald's second save in back-to-back games, and he and Drew Steckenrider both have four saves each in September. The former is 11-for-15 in save opportunities this season.

Barlow recorded his 15th save of the season in Friday's 3-1 win over the Tigers, working a perfect ninth inning without striking out a batter.

The 28-year-old has converted seven straight chances since his last blown save Aug. 25. Barlow now sports a 2.40 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 86:26 K:BB through 71.1 innings with five wins and 14 holds in addition to his saves, and he's emerged as Kansas City's top bullpen arm this season.

Hernandez didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 3-1 win over the Tigers, allowing two hits and three walks over five scoreless innings. He struck out one.

The right-hander fought his control, tossing only 51 of 89 pitches for strikes, but after escaping a bases-loaded jam in the first inning, Hernandez settled in before turning things over to the bullpen. The 24-year-old will take a 3.68 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 74:41 K:BB through 85.2 innings into what should be his final appearance of the season next week at home against Cleveland.

Hendriks struck out one in a perfect ninth inning Friday to record his 35th save of the season in a 1-0 win over Cleveland.

The White Sox bullpen was taxed a little more heavily than expected in the combined shutout after Dylan Cease (triceps) was forced to exit early, but Hendriks was more than up to the task of finishing the job. The 32-year-old hasn't blown a save since Aug. 12, converting nine straight chances with a 1.56 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 23:1 K:BB through 17.1 innings over his last 16 appearances.

Colome pitched a perfect inning against the Blue Jays on Friday, striking out one to earn the save.

Colome faced the heart of the Toronto order -- Vladimir Guerrero, Bo Bichette and Teoscar Hernandez -- while protecting a two-run lead. He made easy work of the trio of batters, needing only five pitches (all of which were strikes) to retire the side in order. The right-hander has successfully converted nine of his last 10 save opportunities and has held opponents scoreless in 12 of his last 14 appearances overall.

Wells allowed three runs on five hits and a walk with one strikeout in five innings Friday, taking a no-decision versus Texas.

The southpaw fared well against most of the Rangers' lineup, although, Nathaniel Lowe homered and singled off him. Wells has been inconsistent across his 10 appearances (seven starts) this year. He's struggled to a 7.61 ERA, 1.75 WHIP and 24:14 K:BB in 36.2 innings with nine home runs allowed. The 24-year-old lines up for one more start this year, likely at home versus Boston next week.
