Sborz (4-3) allowed a run on two hits and a walk while striking out one in one inning Friday, but he earned the win versus Baltimore.

The right-hander benefited from Texas' five-run ninth inning. Sborz has been effective in the second half of the season, posting a 3.00 ERA across 27 innings since the start of July. He's notched a 3.95 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 67:31 K:BB across 57 innings overall while adding a save and nine holds as a high-leverage option for a Texas team that's struggled to win games.

Barlow walked one and struck out one in one inning, earning the save in Friday's 8-5 win over Baltimore.

Texas trailed for most of the game, but a five-run rally for the lead in the ninth inning made Barlow's services necessary. The right-hander has yielded six runs (three earned) across nine innings in September, but those have all come in just two of his 10 appearances. He's posted a tiny 1.69 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 25:12 K:BB through 26.2 innings while adding eight saves and three holds in 28 appearances.

Howard allowed four runs on six hits and struck out four without walking a batter in four innings during a no-decision versus Baltimore on Friday.

All of the damage against Howard came in the second inning, as he let a run score on a fielder's choice before Cedric Mullins swatted a three-run blast. The 25-year-old right-hander issued zero walks for the fifth time in 18 appearances (14 starts) this year. He's struggled to a 7.04 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 50:24 K:BB in 46 innings overall. Howard projects for one more start this season, likely versus Cleveland during next weekend's three-game series.

Yarbrough (9-6) allowed two hits over six scoreless innings Friday, striking out four without walking a batter and earning a win over the Marlins.

Yarbrough was terrific in Friday's win, allowing just one batter to reach scoring position. He took the mound in the second inning after David Robertson opened the game with a shutout frame. Over his previous three appearances, Yarbrough was hammered for 18 runs over 10.1 innings and he now owns a 5.09 ERA. The 29-year-old southpaw is projected to take the mound in Houston next week.

Robertson allowed a walk and struck out one batter in an inning of work as the opener in Friday's win over Miami.

Robertson threw just five of 13 pitches for strikes but managed to work through a scoreless inning. The 36-year-old righty lowered his ERA to 5.00 through nine innings this season.

Diekman, who saw his record drop to 3-3 by taking the loss against the Mariners on Thursday, has now allowed three earned runs apiece in two of his last five relief appearances.

That tally actually bumps up to three when widening the sample out to the left-hander's last 10 trips to the mound, an unusual level of vulnerability after Diekman's dominant 2020 season. The long ball did Diekman in Thursday versus the Mariners, as he surrendered a solo home run to Mitch Haniger and a two-run pinch-hit blast to Luis Torrens to blow the 4-3 lead Oakland had begun the sixth inning with. Diekman ultimately recorded just one out in the frame on a strikeout before exiting while seeing his ERA bump up from 3.39 to 3.84.

Manager Aaron Boone said Friday that Loaisiga (shoulder) could be activated during the team's upcoming series against the Blue Jays, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.

Loaisiga threw a bullpen session Friday and still appears to be on the right track in his recovery. It's not yet clear whether the right-hander will require a rehab assignment before he's reinstated from the injured list, but he wouldn't require many appearances if he reports to the minor-league club.

Hatch was placed on the 10-day injured list with right hamstring tendinitis Friday.

Hatch was removed from Thursday's series opener due to a hamstring issue, and the injury will likely force him to miss the remainder of the regular season. The right-hander made three appearances (two starts) for the Blue Jays this year and posted a 6.75 ERA and 1.82 WHIP in 9.1 innings.

Solomon was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land prior to Friday's game against Oakland, Danielle Lerner of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Solomon was optioned to Houston's taxi squad Monday after earning the win while logging four innings Sunday against the Diamondbacks. Zack Greinke's move to the injured list with a neck issue opens up a spot for the right-hander to return to the Astros' bullpen for the series opener in Oakland, and he figures to be an option to provide length behind spot starter Brandon Bielak.

Krehbiel was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Friday.

Krehbiel was sent to Norfolk after being claimed off waivers by Baltimore earlier this week, though he didn't take the mound during his brief time at Triple-A. The 28-year-old appeared in only one game Sept. 18 before being designated for assignment by the Rays, in which he delivered a scoreless frame with two strikeouts and a walk.
