Cimber pitched a perfect ninth inning on his way to a save in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the Mariners.

Cimber was once again called on to finish Tuesday's win and he retired the Mariners in order for a 1-2-3 ninth inning and his second save in as many days. Jordan Romano (illness) is expected to return soon, but in the meantime, the 31-year-old Cimber has been holding down the final frame and is up to three saves on the year. He has now pitched 3.2 no-hit innings over his last four appearances, surrendering two walks while striking out three. Cimber's 2.20 ERA and 0.81 WHIP over 15.1 innings this season both represent career bests for the right-hander.

Wantz was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.

Wantz was promoted from Salt Lake on Saturday and will return there without making an appearance for the Angels. He's pitched in three big-league games this season and has allowed two runs over three innings.

Valdez had his contract selected by the Angels on Tuesday.

The 37-year-old joined Los Angeles on a minor-league deal in mid-March and will now make his way to the big club. Valdez had a 5.87 ERA, 1.65 ERA and 45:14 K:BB over 46 innings for Baltimore last year, but he was pitching well at Triple-A Salt Lake early in 2022.

Silseth is scheduled to start Friday's game against the A's, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Manager Joe Maddon previously said he was unsure if the the right-hander would receive another turn through the rotation after debuting over the weekend, but it's now been decided the rookie will make at least one more start for the Halos. Silseth allowed only one hit over six scoreless innings during his first big-league appearance, and another strong performance Friday could go a long way toward locking him in as Los Angeles' No. 6 starter.

Pearson (illness) completed a 28-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

The Blue Jays noted that Pearson's fastball touched 96 miles per hour in the throwing session, only a couple ticks below his average velocity over his 12 appearances in the majors in 2021. Assuming Pearson felt fine physically following the side session, he should advance to facing hitters in live batting practice or in a simulated game later this week at the Blue Jays' extended spring training facility in Dunedin, Fla.

Mayza is set to receive a second opinion on his inflamed left forearm later this week and remains optimistic that he'll spend close to the minimum amount of time on the 15-day injured list, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

When players seek a second opinion, it's often an indication that the first one didn't provide a favorable prognosis, but manager Charlie Montoyo suggested that isn't the case for Mayza. Instead, Mayza's initial MRI has apparently turned up favorable results, but the right-hander will still get another checkup just to ensure he's not dealing with a more serious injury. Before the injury surfaced, Mayza had been the top setup man for closer Jordan Romano (illness) this season, logging seven holds and a 2.08 ERA through his first 15 appearances.

Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo said Tuesday that Romano remains day-to-day with a non-COVID-19-related illness, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Per Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca, Romano was spotted receiving an IV and additional fluids at the Toronto clubhouse earlier Tuesday, so the Blue Jays will presumably look to stay away from him in the second game of their series with the Mariners while he works to regain strength. Romano has recorded 12 of the Blue Jays' 14 saves on the season, with Adam Cimber gathering the other two.

The Orioles recalled Gillaspie from Triple-A Norfolk ahead of Tuesday's game against the Yankees, Andy Kostka of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Baltimore swapped Gillaspie onto the 26-man active roster as a replacement for infielder Rylan Bannon, who was optioned to Norfolk. Between stops at Triple-A and Double-A Bowie this season, the 25-year-old Gillaspie has delivered a 3.14 ERA and 1.19 WHIP over nine relief appearances.

The Astros recalled Martinez from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday.

Martinez will join the 26-man active roster as a replacement for right-hander Jake Odorizzi (lower leg), who was placed on the 15-day injured list one day after exiting his start against the Red Sox. The 27-year-old right-hander has previously made two relief appearances for Houston this season, covering 2.2 scoreless frames in total while striking out four hitters.

Barria tossed 4.1 scoreless innings against Texas on Monday, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out four. He did not factor in the decision.

Starter Noah Syndergaard was roughed up for six runs (four earned) over two-thirds of an inning, and after 42 pitches the Angels opted to replace him with Barria. The latter ended up tossing 62 pitches and 4.1 frames in his longest appearance of the campaign. Barria also notched a season-high four strikeouts and kept Los Angeles in the game by completing his fourth straight scoreless outing, all off the multi-inning variety. Since giving up three earned runs over his first 6.2 frames this season, Barria has thrown 11.1 scoreless innings, posting a 9:2 K:BB and 0.71 WHIP over that span.
