Barlow (1-1) took the loss Friday versus the Mariners. He allowed two runs on a hit and a walk in one inning while taking a blown save.

Barlow's perfect run of save conversions ended Friday -- he's now 9-for-10 this season. He surrendered a two-run home run to Eugenio Suarez in the ninth inning. Considering Barlow allowed just two runs (one earned) in 11 innings in May, this can be chalked up to simple misfortune. He's at a 2.45 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 17:6 K:BB through 18.1 innings overall as the Rangers' primary closer.

Clase struck out two batters in a perfect inning and earned a save over Baltimore on Friday.

Clase threw 10 of 14 pitches for strikes and had no issue finishing off Cleveland's 6-3 victory Friday. The 24-year-old has turned in six straight scoreless outings, lowering his season ERA to 2.21 with a 23:4 K:BB through 22 appearances. Friday's outing gave Clase his first save since May 14 and he's now converted eight of his 10 chances on the year.

Sewald walked one and struck out two in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Friday's 4-3 win over the Rangers.

Sewald needed 23 pitches (14 strikes), but he was able to lock down his third save of the season. The 32-year-old took a blown save in Thursday's game versus the Orioles after allowing an inherited runner to score, but manager Scott Servais showed trust to turn back to him the next day. The right-hander has a 2.33 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, 19:6 K:BB, three holds and a 2-1 record through 19.1 innings as a high-leverage option in the Mariners' closer committee.

Zimmermann (2-4) allowed five runs on 10 hits over 5.2 innings Friday, striking out one and taking a loss against Cleveland.

Zimmermann struggled out of the gate Friday, giving up a two-run double to Owen Miller in the first inning. Miller struck again with a two-run single as part of Cleveland's three-run third inning. Zimmerman has coughed up at least four runs in his last four outings, posting a brutal 8.57 ERA in the process. The 27-year-old is sporting a 4.87 ERA with a 42:11 K:BB through 11 starts this year. Zimmermann is lined up to start in Kansas City next week.

Taylor is dealing with left elbow discomfort and is heading back to Houston for further testing, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

This sounds pretty ominous, and it's worth noting that Taylor's velocity was down a tick Friday and catcher Martin Maldonado summoned the trainers from the dugout. Taylor should be considered out indefinitely.

Poche retired the only batter he faced with a strikeout to earn the save in Friday's 6-3 win over the White Sox.

Shawn Armstrong got into a bases-loaded jam in the ninth inning, but Poche was able to end the threat with a strikeout of Luis Robert. It's an encouraging bounce-back for Poche, who took a blown save and backed into a win in his last outing Wednesday versus the Rangers. The southpaw is now 3-for-4 in save chances while adding eight holds, a 1.56 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 14:5 K:BB across 17.1 innings this season. He remains in the mix for save chances, though manager Kevin Cash has often opted to deploy a committee approach to closing duties.

Taylor exited Friday's game against the Royals with an apparent injury, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

His velocity was down a tick on his first two fastballs and Martin Maldonado stopped play and summoned the trainers from the dugout. The team may conduct some tests after the game before providing a diagnosis.

Hamilton's contract was purchased from Triple-A St. Paul on Friday.

Hamilton had a 0.71 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 17 strikeouts in 12.2 innings through 10 appearances at Triple-A. He may only be up for this weekend's series in Toronto while three Twins relievers are on the restricted list.

Manager Kevin Cash indicated that Kittredge (back) will make a rehab appearance for Triple-A Durham on Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Kittredge won't be quite ready for activation from the IL when first eligible Friday, but he indicated earlier in the process that he may only need a rehab appearance or two, so his return to the bullpen may not be too far off. He should move back into a high-leverage role once he's cleared to return, especially given that J.P. Feyereisen (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day IL on Friday.

Krehbiel was placed on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation Friday.

Krehbiel was removed from Thursday's game against the Mariners due to a shoulder issue, and he'll miss at least two weeks after being diagnosed with inflammation. Nick Vespi was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk to provide additional depth in Baltimore's bullpen.
