Hendriks earned a save against Detroit on Saturday, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out two batters in a scoreless inning of work.

Hendriks entered with Chicago up by two in the ninth inning. He allowed a single and a walk but struck out Riley Greene with the tying run on base to end the game. Hendriks hasn't blown a save since mid-May, racking up 16 straight successful conversions while posting a 2.13 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 37:5 K:BB over his past 25 appearances.

Pagan (3-6) allowed two runs (one earned) on a hit and a walk in one inning, taking the loss in extra innings Saturday versus the Angels.

This was Pagan's second appearance since suffering a lat cramp last Sunday. The right-hander got through the 10th inning without trouble, but he gave up a walkoff two-run home run to Taylor Ward with no outs in the 11th. Through five appearances in August, Pagan has struggled, allowing seven runs (five earned), including two homers, while striking out five in 5.1 innings. He has a 5.23 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 58:18 K:BB through 41.1 innings overall. While he's added nine saves and seven holds, his struggle with keeping the ball in the park (10 homers allowed) has taken him mostly out of the closer conversation.

Lopez allowed two runs on two hits and a walk in one inning, taking a blown save in Saturday's 5-3 extra-innings loss to the Angels.

Lopez had a two-run lead to protect in the ninth inning, but he couldn't close it out. Magneuris Sierra hit a two-run, two-out triple to tie the game, though he was thrown out trying to turn it into an inside-the-park home run. That was enough to drop Lopez to 1-for-3 in save chances with the Twins since joining them at the trade deadline. The 29-year-old is 20-for-25 in saves overall when accounting for his time with the Orioles. He's added a 2.03 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 58:19 K:BB through 53.1 innings. There's been no indication that he's at risk of losing the closer role, but he'll need to steady things soon to avoid slipping into a committee.

White allowed one earned run on three hits and three walks while striking out three across 4.2 innings Saturday against the Guardians. He did not factor into the decision.

White walked a pair and allowed a single in the opening frame, which accounted for his only earned run. He largely rebounded from there but was pulled in the fifth inning with runners on first and second base. White continues to struggle to work deep into games on a consistent basis, as he's exceeded five innings in only two of 12 starts for the season. More positive, White has managed to suppress runs effectively, maintaining a 3.72 ERA with a 52:23 K:BB across 65.1 frames on the campaign.

Romano allowed one hit and one walk while striking out two across 1.1 innings to earn the save Saturday against Cleveland.

Romano entered the game in the eighth inning with a runner on second base. He allowed a walk to the first batter he faced but struck out Oscar Gonzalez to escape the jam. He also worked around a runner in scoring position in the final frame to tally his 26th save of the campaign. Romano had allowed an earned run in each of his last two appearances prior to Saturday, so he was in need of a stabilizing performance. Overall, Romano has a 2.51 ERA with a 48:15 K:BB across 43 innings on the campaign.

Hall was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday after his start against the Rays, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Hall made his MLB debut Saturday, allowing five earned runs on five hits and three walks across 3.2 innings to take the loss. He also struck out six, showcasing his potential to be effective as a starter in the majors. However, for the time being, Baltimore plans to shift Hall to a relief role in the minors and have him return to the majors for the final month of the season. Hall should have the opportunity to be extremely effective as a reliever, as he's racked up a 36 percent strikeout rate across 70 innings as a starter with Norfolk this season.

Payamps was placed on the bereavement list Saturday.

Players may spend between three and seven days on the bereavement list, meaning Payamps should return between Tuesday and next Saturday. Carlos Hernandez will take his place in the bullpen.

Hernandez was recalled from Triple-A Omaha on Saturday.

Hernandez was demoted in May after struggling to a 9.10 ERA in seven starts to open the season. He's returned to the majors twice since then, though both stints have been brief, resulting in just a single long-relief appearance. He'll likely fill a similar low-leverage role this time around.

Ort was optioned to Triple-A Worcester on Friday.

Ort was recalled Tuesday and made a pair of appearances in his latest stint with the team, neither of which went well. He allowed a combined four runs (two earned) in 2.2 innings of work and now has a 9.00 ERA in 15 innings on the season. Jeurys Familia will take his place in the bullpen.

Martinez was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land on Saturday.

Martinez was productive over the first half of the season but has had inconsistent results over the last month. The right-hander posted a 7.27 ERA and 1.73 WHIP in 8.2 innings over his last seven appearances and will head to the minors as part of a move to make room for Lance McCullers on the active roster.
