Honeywell (elbow) was charged with the loss and a blown save in Triple-A Las Vegas' loss to Reno on Sunday, allowing three earned runs on three hits and a walk over one inning.

Honeywell's erratic showing was a microcosm of a wild 13-12 loss for the Aviators, and it came on the heels of the recovering right-hander having put together back-to-back scoreless one-inning appearances for Las Vegas on Tuesday and Wednesday. Given he still seems to be ironing out some kinks -- he's now allowed three earned runs in three of his last five rehab appearances -- and the Athletics aren't contending for a postseason spot, the organization may opt to give him at least one more outing on the farm to rebuild some confidence.

The Rays recalled Patino from Triple-A Durham in advance of his scheduled start Monday against the Red Sox at Tropicana Field, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Patino will begin his fourth stint of the season in the big leagues, having previously made four starts for Tampa Bay while accruing a 3.95 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 7:6 K:BB across 13.2 innings. Since returning to Triple-A following an Aug. 18 spot start, Patino has covered four and 5.2 innings in his starts for Durham, so the right-hander should be able to offer the Rays a decent amount of length during Monday's outing. With staff ace Shane McClanahan (shoulder) not eligible to return from the IL until mid-September, Patino could get a second turn through the rotation this weekend against the Yankees, though it may be contingent on him pitching well against Boston.

The Orioles recalled Baumann from Triple-A Norfolk in advance of his scheduled start in the first game of Monday's doubleheader with the Blue Jays.

He'll be designated as the Orioles' 29th man for the twin bill, meaning that Baumann is set to return to Norfolk immediately following the spot start. The Orioles will be hoping that Baumann's latest outing at Norfolk will be a harbinger of what's to come as he reports to Baltimore for his 12th career MLB appearance and first career start. He struck out a career-high 13 while allowing one unearned run over six innings in his most recent start for Norfolk on Aug. 31.

Soto (2-8) allowed a run on two hits and two walks to take the loss Sunday against the Royals. He struck out one.

Coming on in the eighth inning of a 2-2 ballgame, Soto labored threw the frame on 21 pitches and ultimately allowed a run to score to take the loss. The lefty has struggled with a 9.00 ERA and 2.27 WHIP across his last 12 appearances. During that time, his K/9 has dropped to 7.4, compared to 9.0 for the season, and he's also walking a batter per inning. Soto will likely continue to struggle unless he can increase his strikeouts and limit the free passes.

The Orioles optioned Garcia to Triple-A Norfolk on Monday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

After covering 1.1 innings in relief in Sunday's 5-0 loss to the Athletics, Garcia wasn't likely to be available for either end of Monday's doubleheader with the Blue Jays. As a result, the Orioles opted to swap Garcia out of the bullpen for a fresh arm in Beau Sulser, who was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

Baumann will be recalled from Triple-A Norfolk to start the first game of Monday's doubleheader with the Blue Jays at Camden Yards, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Baumann will be making his first career MLB start Monday, with his previous 11 appearances with Baltimore over the past two seasons coming as a reliever. Over the past three months at Norfolk, Baumann has compiled a 2.76 ERA and 1.14 WHIP across 45.2 innings, and he delivered his best start of the season his last time out Aug. 31. In that start against Lehigh Valley, Baumann tossed six innings and allowed one unearned run while striking out 13.

Mengden cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Omaha on Sunday.

Mengden was designated for assignment Friday, and he'll now head back to Omaha after a one-day stint in the majors. He allowed three runs on five hits and a walk with two strikeouts in a loss versus the White Sox on Thursday. Without a spot on the 40-man roster, it's unlikely Mengden plays much of a role with the big club over the last month of the season.

Davidson (2-5) took the loss during Sunday's 9-1 defeat at the hands of the Astros, allowing seven runs on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts in 6.1 innings.

Davidson pitched well aside from a five-run second inning during which he surrendered six baserunners, which was enough to sink the lefty. The 26-year-old was efficient in firing 62 of 88 pitches for strikes with 10 whiffs but still issued multiple walks for the third straight outing. Davidson carries a 6.42 ERA and 1.72 WHIP into his next appearance.

Coleman (4-1) allowed a hit and struck out one over 1.1 scoreless innings to earn the win Sunday over the Tigers.

Coleman got the last out of the seventh inning and became the pitcher of record when Bobby Witt put the Royals ahead in the eighth with an RBI double. Since the start of August, Coleman has functioned as an effective setup man. He's allowed two runs on eight hits and five walks while striking out 16 over 14.2 innings, and he's added five holds and two wins in those 14 appearances. He has a 2.54 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 59:34 K:BB with 13 holds and two blown saves through 56.2 innings overall. The right-hander would likely be a secondary option for saves should Scott Barlow be unavailable at any point.

Stephan (4-4) took the loss in extra innings Sunday versus the Mariners, allowing three runs (two earned) on three hits in one inning. He didn't walk a batter or record a strikeout.

Stephan allowed initial runner Eugenio Suarez to score on a J.P. Crawford one-out single. That ended up not making much of a difference, as Cal Raleigh took Stephan deep for a two-run blast one batter later. This ended the 26-year-old right-hander's 7.1-inning scoreless streak. He still has a strong 2.58 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 68:13 K:BB through 52.1 innings while logging two saves, two blown saves and 13 holds in 52 appearances.
