The Rays claimed Sulser off waivers from the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

After an extended absence due to a shoulder strain, Sulser returned to make a lone appearance out of the Arizona bullpen before being designated for assignment. The Tampa Bay front office has deemed Sulser of a 40-man roster spot despite his struggles in recent seasons. The right-hander pitched to a 2.70 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and eight saves with Baltimore in 2021.

Bachman (shoulder) was transferred from the 15-day to the 60-day injured list early in the week, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Bachman was diagnosed with right shoulder inflammation in mid-July and was subsequently placed on the 15-day IL. Per MLB.com, the rookie right-hander had not yet resumed throwing at the time he was moved to the 60-day IL on Aug. 1. Bachman will now be out of action until at least mid-September.

The White Sox selected Ramsey's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday.

Ramsey has a 5.50 ERA, 1.81 WHIP and 48:27 K:BB across 36 innings at Charlotte this season and will now receive his first taste of the big leagues. The 27-year-old should fill a low-leverage bullpen role while up with the White Sox.

Santos was placed on the bereavement list Saturday.

Santos appears to have taken over as Chicago's closer, but he'll step away from the team for 3-to-7 days for personal reasons. Aaron Bummer is likely the top option for saves until Santos rejoins the White Sox.

Honeywell was claimed off waivers by the White Sox on Saturday.

Honeywell was recently designated for assignment by San Diego and will now make his way to Chicago. The 28-year-old had a 3.20 ERA in his first 29 outings for the Padres this season, but he lost his place on the 40-man roster after he gave up seven earned runs across his last seven outings.

Scott was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday.

Scott was claimed off waivers by Oakland shortly after the All-Star break and gave up three earned runs over 5.1 frames during his time with the big club. The right-hander could rejoin the A's later on when they need bullpen depth.

Jimenez (shoulder) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Jimenez has been sidelined since mid-April but will rejoin the active roster after a five-game rehab assignment, during which he surrendered 10 runs across 4.1 innings. The 29-year-old could work his way into a high-leverage bullpen role but may be eased in with lower-leverage situations early on.

Manager Alex Cora said Murphy is likely to serve as Boston's primary pitcher Saturday against Toronto, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

John Schreiber will operate as the Red Sox's opener Saturday, and Murphy is poised to work in the bulk role behind him. The 25-year-old righty allowed an unearned run across 3.1 innings last time out against San Francisco and has a 1.59 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 27:11 K:BB over 28.1 innings this season.

Baumann (9-0) pitched 1.2 perfect innings to earn the win Friday over the Mets. He did not walk or strike out a batter.

Baumann cleaned up Dean Kremer's mess with a double play to end the sixth inning before tossing a clean seventh. Since the start of July, Baumann has earned four of his nine wins while pitching to a 1.29 ERA and 1.21 WHIP over 14 innings. He's at a 3.31 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 54:28 K:BB through 54.1 innings overall while working in somewhat of a fireman role in the middle innings.

Schreiber will serve as the Red Sox's opening pitcher for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

Chris Murphy, who last pitched Sunday against the Giants and covered 3.1 innings, will likely serve as a bulk reliever behind Schreiber, who will likely work only an inning or two. The Red Sox have now deployed Schreiber as an opener for two of his five appearances since he returned from the 60-day injured list last week.
