The Rays placed Diaz on the restricted list Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

It's unclear what the reason is for Diaz being placed on the restricted list or how long he'll be unavailable. Coco Montes was recalled from Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move.

Santander (shoulder) will start at designated hitter and bat third Tuesday against the Rays.

As expected, Santander is back in action after sitting out the Blue Jays' entire weekend series in Seattle. He suffered the shoulder injury while playing the outfield Thursday, and the Blue Jays could look to use him at DH in the short term if his throwing is still an issue. Santander is hitting .196 with five home runs in 160 plate appearances during his first season in Toronto.

Larnach is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Baltimore.

It's the first day off since April 19 for Larnach, who occupied the designated-hitter spot for each of the Twins' previous four contests. Royce Lewis will be the DH on Tuesday, while Jonah Bride will handle third base.

Astros manager Joe Espada confirmed that Alvarez (hand) will not be activated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Tuesday, Matt Thomas of SportsTalk 790 in Houston reports.

Espada did say that he expected Alvarez back soon, and indications are that it will likely be for the start of the team's series in Texas against the Rangers on Thursday. Alvarez is coming back from a right hand muscle strain and resumed hitting in the batting cage Monday.

Polanco went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Monday's 11-5 loss to the Yankees.

This was Polanco's first homer in May. He's struggled early this month, going 6-for-31 (.194) over his last nine contests, though three of those hits have gone for extra bases. It's likely some natural regression after his sizzling start to the 2025 campaign. The infielder has a .327/.372/.673 slash line with 10 homers, 29 RBI, 17 runs scored, one stolen base and six doubles over 31 games.

Ozuna went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and an RBI single in Monday's 4-3 win over Washington.

Ozuna put Atlanta on the board with an RBI single in the third inning and extended the lead to two runs in the fifth with a solo homer off Jake Irvin. It was Ozuna's sixth home run of the season and first since April 26 against the Diamondbacks. He's gone 9-for-37 with two runs scored, one home run and three RBI since the beginning of May.

Stanton (elbows) could be sent to Tampa later in the week to take live at-bats, Brendan Kuty of The Athletic reports.

The team has yet to finalize the plan for Stanton this week, but it's a promising sign that he's getting close to facing live arms. The slugger is continuing to build up after being placed on the injured list before the start of the 2025 regular season due to a calf and elbow injuries, and he was finally given the green light to participate in batting practice in late April.

Alvarez (hand) hit in the batting cage prior to Monday's game against the Royals, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Alvarez is eligible for activation from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, and while a return that day has not been ruled out, it's looking like he has a better shot to be activated Thursday when the Astros begin a road trip. The slugger is working his way back from a right hand muscle strain.

Santander (shoulder) is expected to return to the lineup Tuesday against the Rays, Mitch Bannon of the Athletic reports.

The veteran outfielder sat out all three games of the Blue Jays' weekend series in Seattle after tumbling into the seats in Anaheim on Thursday trying to catch a foul ball. Santander's had a bumpy start to his Toronto tenure, but he was starting to come around prior to injuring his shoulder, batting .250 (10-for-40) with three homers and eight RBI over his last 10 contests.

Rice went 2-for-3 with a grand slam, a walk and two runs scored in Sunday's win over the Athletics. He also reached twice via hit-by-pitch.

Rice demolished a fifth-inning grand slam to put the Yankees ahead 10-1. Dating back to April 29, eight of his 10 hits have gone for extra-bases, and he now sits eighth in baseball with a .937 OPS. The power Rice has shown so far this season has been remarkable. He hit seven home runs in 178 plate appearances as a rookie last year and is already up to nine in 144 plate appearances in 2025.
