Agustin Ramirez C | MIA
Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Crosses plate three times Sunday
Ramirez went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, three runs scored and an RBI in Sunday's rout of the Orioles.
The rookie catcher wraps up an impressive first half by scoring multiple runs for the third time in the last seven games, a stretch in which he's batting .250 (7-for-28) with five doubles and a homer. Ramirez had provided some big-time power to the Marlins' lineup since his promotion in late April, and through his first 71 big-league contests he boasts a .242/.289/.470 slash line with 35 extra-base hits, including 14 home runs.

Cardinals' Ivan Herrera: Swipes two bags
Herrera went 1-for-3 with a walk and two stolen bases in Sunday's win over Atlanta.
Herrera singled in the first inning and drew a walk in the third. He would swipe second base after each of those plate appearances. It was Herrera's first appearance since June 19 after a stint on the injured list for a hamstring issue, so the stolen bases were a very positive sign. He owns a strong .320/.394/.529 slash line with three stolen bases and 16 extra-base hits through 175 plate appearances.

Gavin Sheets RF | SD
Padres' Gavin Sheets: Lands on paternity list
The Padres placed Sheets on the paternity list Sunday.
Sheets will step away from the team ahead of the final game before the All-Star break Sunday versus the Phillies in order to be with his growing family. The 29-year-old should be back with the club for the start of the second half Friday in Washington.

Luis Campusano C | SD
Padres' Luis Campusano: Promoted, in lineup Sunday
The Padres recalled Campusano from Triple-A El Paso, and he will bat seventh as the designated hitter Sunday against the Phillies.
Campusano was sent to El Paso in mid-June but is back with the big club for the final game of the first half. The 26-year-old has appeared in nine games with San Diego this season and has gone 0-for-18 with six walks and nine strikeouts. Campusano may be in line for a short stay in the majors, since the corresponding transaction for his promotion was Gavin Sheets being placed on the paternity list. Sheets should be ready to rejoin the Padres when they open their second-half schedule next Friday in Washington.

Ivan Herrera C | STL
Cardinals' Ivan Herrera: Activated, serving as DH
Herrera (hamstring) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and will start at designated hitter and bat second in Sunday's game against Atlanta.
St. Louis placed outfielder Lars Nootbaar (rib) on the 10-day injured list to reopen a spot on the 26-man active roster for Herrera, who went 4-for-7 with a double, an RBI and a run in two rehab games for Triple-A Memphis prior to being activated. Herrera didn't play behind the plate during his rehab assignment, and his playing time at catcher could be limited over the rest of the season while St. Louis aims to keep him healthy while he's already hit the shelf twice this season, first due to a left knee bone bruise and most recently due to a Grade 2 left hamstring strain. The 25-year-old has been exceptionally productive when available, batting .320 with eight home runs, one stolen base, 36 RBI and 22 runs through 42 games for St. Louis.

Marcell Ozuna DH | ATL
Braves' Marcell Ozuna: On bench again Sunday
Ozuna is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
After a run of 70 straight starts came to an end last weekend, Ozuna now finds himself on the bench for the third time in Atlanta's past seven contests. The veteran slugger has gone 4-for-15 with two homers over his past four games but has a .665 OPS since the start of July and a .577 mark since the start of June while playing through a hip issue, which he's likely to have to manage the rest of the season.

Marcell Ozuna DH | ATL
Braves' Marcell Ozuna: Swats solo homer Saturday
Ozuna went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 7-6 victory versus the Cardinals on Saturday.
Ozuna belted a 422-foot shot to left-center field in the second inning to give Atlanta a 2-0 lead. The veteran slugger may be working his way out of a prolonged power slump -- he's gone deep twice in his past three contests following a 21-game stretch with no home runs. Ozuna has had a pretty down year by his recent standards, posting a .761 OPS through 89 contests after registering an OPS above .900 in each of the previous two campaigns.

Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD
Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Tosses three dominant frames
Ohtani allowed one hit and issued one walk while striking out four batters over three scoreless innings in a no-decision against San Francisco on Saturday. He also went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts as a hitter.
For the first time in a Dodgers uniform, Ohtani went deeper than two innings, completing three frames on 36 pitches against the Giants. He threw 25 of those offerings for strikes, including six whiffs, and fanned a season-high four batters while looking entirely at ease on the mound. Ohtani gave up a run in one inning during his 2025 pitching debut versus San Diego on June 16, and since then he's tossed eight scoreless frames while allowing just two hits and posting a 10:2 K:BB over four starts. The Dodgers will almost certainly continue to build him up gradually, so he probably won't be pitching deep enough to qualify for a win for several more starts, but all signs to this point indicate that Ohtani hasn't lost the ability to be an ace after undergoing UCL surgery in September of 2023. Per Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register, Ohtani will next pitch in one of Los Angeles' first five games following the All-Star break, though it's not yet clear if he'll again form a piggyback with Emmet Sheehan, who tossed 4.1 frames following Ohtani on Saturday.

Wilmer Flores 1B | SF
Giants' Wilmer Flores: Sitting again
Flores is not in Saturday's lineup against the Dodgers.
Flores will sit out his second straight game overall and fifth with a right-handed starter or bulk reliever taking the mound. Dominic Smith appears to have taken over the large-side platoon role at first base for the time being, and he will hit eighth Saturday.

Ivan Herrera C | STL
Cardinals' Ivan Herrera: Working out in outfield
Herrera (hamstring) was given pregame reps in the outfield with the Cardinals prior to beginning his rehab assignment with Triple-A Memphis on Thursday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Herrera's playing time at catcher in the second half will be reduced -- if not outright eliminated -- as the Cardinals look to keep him healthy and also prioritize defense at the position. The 25-year-old will be the team's primary designated hitter down the stretch, but he's being worked out in the outfield "to see what that looks like," per manager Oliver Marmol. Herrera has played 14 games at catcher this season, so he is in danger of losing catcher eligibility heading into 2026, if your league uses a 20-game threshold. He is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list for the first game after the All-Star break.
