  • Athletics' Shea Langeliers: Goes long again

    Langeliers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 5-2 win over Atlanta on Tuesday.

    Langeliers struck out in each of his first two plate appearances Tuesday, but he gave the Athletics a four-run lead after belting a solo home run off Joel Payamps in the fifth inning. Langeliers is 2-for-12 with six strikeouts over his last three outings, but the 28-year-old catcher is up to four home runs through five regular-season games.

    Yankees' Austin Wells: Absent from lineup

    Wells isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners.

    Wells went 2-for-3 with a run scored on Opening Day but has gone 0-for-10 at the plate since then. He'll get a day off to reset; meanwhile, J.C. Escarra will start at catcher and bat seventh.

  • Tigers' Dillon Dingler: Taking seat Tuesday

    Dingler isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against Arizona.

    Dingler will catch a breather Tuesday after going 4-for-12 with a homer, five RBI and two runs scored through the Tigers' first four games. Jake Rogers will replace him behind the plate and bat ninth.

  • Diamondbacks' Adrian Del Castillo: Beginning rehab assignment

    Del Castillo (calf) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, Aaron Hughes of SI.com reports.

    Del Castillo missed the entirety of Cactus League play with a strained left calf, so this is a big step in his recovery to see some game action. Del Castillo appeared in 44 regular-season games with the Diamondbacks last season and slashed .242/.290/.392 with four home runs, 17 RBI, nine runs scored and an 8:47 BB:K across 131 plate appearances.

  • Mets' Francisco Alvarez: Idle Tuesday

    Alvarez isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.

    Alvarez will grab a seat on the bench Tuesday after going 1-for-3 with a walk in Monday's series opener. Luis Torrens will catch instead for starter Kodai Senga while batting ninth.

  • Red Sox's Carlos Narvaez: Receiving Tuesday off

    Narvaez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game at Houston, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

    Narvaez went 1-for-3 with two strikeouts in Monday's series opener and has hits in all three of his starts this season, but he'll head to the bench for Tuesday's contest. Connor Wong will do the catching for Boston righty Brayan Bello.

    Cubs' Carson Kelly: Absent from lineup

    Kelly is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.

    Kelly has been behind the dish for three of the Cubs' first five games this season but will yield catching duties to Miguel Amaya on Tuesday. Amaya is in the nine spot in Chicago's lineup.

  • Brewers' Jeferson Quero: Optioned back to Triple-A

    The Brewers optioned Quero to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday.

    He's being sent out to make room on the active roster for Luis Matos, who was acquired via trade. Quero logged two plate appearances during his first brief stint in the majors, drawing a walk and grounding out.

  • Blue Jays' Alejandro Kirk: Not in Tuesday's lineup

    Kirk is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Rockies.

    Kirk has gone 1-for-12 with two walks and a solo homer through three games and will sit Tuesday for the second time in Toronto's past three contests. Tyler Heineman will take over behind the plate to do the catching for veteran righty Max Scherzer.

    Herrera will start at catcher and bat second in Tuesday's contest against the Mets.

    It's the second start at catcher this season for Herrera, leaving him eight games shy of gaining eligibility at the position if your league uses a 10-game in-season threshold. Herrera is off to a slow start offensively this season, going 2-for-17 with a double and two RBI.
