McCann (quadriceps) is expected to begin playing in complex league games next week, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.

McCann has been on the shelf since May 19 due to a right quadriceps strain. However, he was cleared to resume baseball activities earlier this month, and assuming everything goes to plan, he'll face live competition as early as next week. The backstop hasn't appeared in a game since May 18, so he'll presumably need to participate in at least a handful of matchups before being activated from the 10-day injured list.

Feduccia isn't in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Feduccia will head to the bench for the series opener with the Rays slated to face lefty Eric Lauer. Nick Fortes will draw the start behind the dish and bat eighth.

Diaz (oblique) is expected to be reinstated from the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday's game against the Tigers, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Diaz wasn't able to play a full nine-inning rehab game behind the plate Sunday as planned after Triple-A Sugar Land had its series finale rained out, but after returning to Houston, he was able to get in some live at-bats Monday at Daikin Park. Assuming his oblique isn't presenting any issues for him coming out of that workout, Diaz should step back in behind the plate Tuesday to catch for starting pitcher Hunter Brown (shoulder), who is also on track to be reinstated from the IL. Before the left oblique strain sent him to the shelf May 5, Diaz had gotten off to a slow start to the season, slashing just .235/.255/.347 with two home runs, 14 RBI and seven runs across 106 plate appearances.

Kelly is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rockies.

Kelly will hit the bench after he started behind the plate in three of the Cubs' last four games. Moises Ballesteros will get the nod at catcher in the series opener.

Higashioka is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Twins.

The Rangers will give Higashioka a breather for the series opener, paving the way for Elias Diaz to receive a turn behind the plate. Higashioka should continue to see the bulk of the starts at catcher while Danny Jansen (forearm) is on the injured list.

Atlanta outrighted Wynns to Triple-A Gwinnett on Monday.

Drake Baldwin (oblique) is back from the injured list, and Atlanta has elected to keep Sandy Leon over Wynns as Baldwin's backup catcher. Wynns will remain in the organization as experienced catching depth at Gwinnett.

Atlanta activated Baldwin (oblique) from the 10-day injured list Monday.

Atlanta is idle Monday, so Baldwin will return to the lineup during Tuesday's series opener at home against the Giants. Baldwin has missed almost a month of action while rehabilitating a strained oblique, but he will cleared to rejoin the active roster after playing one rehab contest with Triple-A Sacramento. The 25-year-old was looking like an MVP candidate before getting hurt, having slashed .303/.389/.543 with 13 home runs over 48 games.

Jackson will start at catcher and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Rangers.

With top backstop Victor Caratini receiving a day off, Jackson will pick up his 10th start behind the plate since the Twins called him up from Triple-A St. Paul on May 19. Over 31 plate appearances with Minnesota, Jackson is batting .267 with one extra-base hit (a double), three runs, one RBI and a 0:11 BB:K.

Caratini is not in the lineup for Monday's contest versus the Rangers.

Caratini will get a day off after clubbing his fourth home run of the season in Sunday's win over the Cardinals. Alex Jackson will start at catcher and bat ninth for the Twins on Monday.

Ruiz went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI in Sunday's win over the Mariners.

The backstop capped his first multi-hit performance in June with a seventh-inning solo shot off Michael Rucker. Since the beginning of May, Ruiz is slashing a stunning .349/.367/.640 over 90 plate appearances with five of his six long balls on the season, along with 10 doubles, one steal, 16 runs and 20 RBI in 25 contests.
