  • Connor Wong C | BOS

Red Sox's Connor Wong: Receiving rest Sunday

Wong is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.

Wong will get a breather Sunday after he started behind the plate in three of the Red Sox's previous four contests. Carlos Narvaez will handle catching duties in the series finale.

  • Angels' Travis d'Arnaud: Relegated to bench Sunday

D'Arnaud is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

D'Arnaud will take a seat for the series finale, but he looks to be the Angels' new No. 1 catcher after Logan O'Hoppe was traded to the Rangers on Wednesday. Tyler Heineman will get the nod behind the dish in place of d'Arnaud, who went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts while starting the first two contests of the series.

  • Carson Kelly C | CHC

Cubs' Carson Kelly: Resting up Sunday

Kelly is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees.

Kelly will take a seat while the Cubs go with Miguel Amaya behind the plate for the second time in the series. Since the All-Star break, Kelly has gone 7-for-38 (.184) with no extra-base hits, five RBI and three runs in 12 games.

  • Yainer Diaz C | HOU

Astros' Yainer Diaz: Taking seat Sunday

Diaz is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.

Diaz will get a chance to catch his breath after starting the last three games behind the dish. Christian Vazquez will handle catching duties for Houston in the series finale.

  • Henry Davis C | PIT

Pirates' Henry Davis: Bound for bench Sunday

Davis is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

Davis had started the previous two games, but his playing time is set to take a hit after Endy Rodriguez and Spencer Horwitz came off the injured list. Horwitz should settle back in as the Pirates' everyday first baseman, which will require Rodriguez to get the bulk of his starts behind the plate.

  • Rockies' Hunter Goodman: Resting up Sunday

Goodman is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Royals.

The Rockies will go with Brett Sullivan behind the plate and Jake McCarthy at designated hitter while Goodman gets a rest, and the trade deadline looms. Goodman had started all but one of the first 13 games coming out of the All-Star break, slashing .289/.360/.711 with six home runs, 14 RBI and seven runs over that stretch.

  • Giants' Daniel Susac: Doubles in defeat

Susac went 2-for-4 with a double in Saturday's 6-5 loss to the Padres.

Susac lined a leadoff double to center field in the sixth inning and singled in the eighth. He's recorded at least one hit in each of his last three games and is batting .280 with eight RBI, five runs scored, three home runs and a stolen base in 29 plate appearances since returning from the injured list after the All-Star break. On the year, he's slashing .266/.310/.406 with 22 RBI, 10 runs scored, three long balls and two stolen bases across 144 plate appearances.

  • Rays' Hunter Feduccia: Idle against southpaw

Feduccia is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The left-handed hitter will be on the bench for a second straight day, as White Sox southpaw Anthony Kay takes the mound after lefty Noah Schultz worked in bulk relief Saturday. Nick Fortes will get another turn behind the dish over Feduccia on Sunday.

  • Jimmy Crooks C | STL

Cardinals' Jimmy Crooks: Receiving breather Sunday

Crooks is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

Crooks will get a break after he went 1-for-6 with four strikeouts while starting behind the dish in the first two games of the series. Ivan Herrera will receive the start at catcher in Sunday's finale.

  • Elias Diaz C | TEX

Rangers' Elias Diaz: Homers in loss

Diaz went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Astros.

Diaz drove in a game-tying run in the fourth inning on a sacrifice bunt and then homered in the sixth to bring Texas within one run. The RBI were his first in 18 contests. He's getting most of the starts at catcher with Kyle Higashioka (forearm) on the injured list.
