Casali was removed from Friday's loss to the Padres after taking a foul tip off his mask, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Casali went 0-for-1 with an RBI and a walk to begin Friday's matchup, but he was replaced late in the game and evaluated for a concussion. While manager Gabe Kapler said the backstop was feeling better after the game, Casali will be monitored to determine whether he's dealing with a concussion.

Trevino isn't starting Saturday's game against the White Sox.

Trevino has started exclusively against right-handed pitchers this year, and he'll get a breather with southpaw Dallas Keuchel starting for the White Sox on Saturday. Kyle Higashioka will start behind the dish and bat eighth.

Bemboom was designated for assignment by the Orioles on Saturday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Bemboom saw sporadic playing time with the Orioles, and he hit just .115 with a homer, two doubles, four runs and an RBI over 22 games. He'll lose his spot on the 40-man roster after Adley Rutschman's contract was selected Saturday.

Rutschman's contract was selected by the Orioles on Saturday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Rutschman was the No. 1 overall pick 2019 and is one of the top prospects in baseball. The 24-year-old missed the first few weeks of the minor-league season in 2022 due to a triceps injury, but he was promoted to Triple-A Norfolk in early May. He hit .233 with three homers, seven RBI and five runs over 12 games in Norfolk, and he's in line to serve as Baltimore's primary catcher now that he's been called up to the big leagues.

D'Arnaud went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a solo home run in Friday's 5-3 win over the Marlins.

He launched his fourth homer of the season off Trevor Rogers in the third inning to cap the scoring on the night for Atlanta. The veteran catcher is slashing .222/.271/.444 through 12 games in May with nine RBI, and d'Arnaud will need to remain productive to avoid losing playing time to William Contreras.

Perez underwent surgery to repair a ruptured hamstring injury Friday, Rob Biertempfel of The Athletic reports.

The Pirates announced this week that Perez would miss the remainder of the season following his procedure, and he'll now shift his focus toward his lengthy recovery process. The team hopes Perez will be able to resume full baseball activities in 6-to-9 months, so it seems likely that he'll be available to begin the 2023 season.

Bart isn't starting Friday against the Padres, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Bart went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts Wednesday against the Rockies, and he'll be out of the lineup for the third time in the last four games. Curt Casali will start behind the dish and bat eighth.

Stassi (illness) will begin a rehab assignment at Single-A Inland Empire on Saturday, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.

Stassi has been on the COVID-19 injured list for a week and a half and said that he felt sick for three or four days last week. However, he rejoined the Angels on Friday and participated in workouts. He expects to play in at least two rehab games, and it seems likely that the backstop will be activated from the injured list early next week.

Nola isn't starting Friday against the Giants.

Nola went 1-for-4 with two strikeouts in Thursday's win over the Phillies, and he'll take a seat for the second time in the last three games. Jorge Alfaro will start behind the plate and bat ninth.

Moreno's elbow injury was confirmed to be a minor one after tests Friday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Moreno left his game with Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday after getting hit by a pitch, but imaging was negative Friday, and the Blue Jays don't appear to be overly concerned. He may have to wait a few days for swelling and soreness to subside, but the issue shouldn't significantly impact his push for a big-league roster spot.
