Yan Gomes C | CHC
Nationals' Yan Gomes: Heads to bench
Gomes is on the bench Friday against the Marlins, Byron Kerr of MASN Sports reports.
Gomes hit .300 through his first eight games but has since gone hitless in his last three. He sits in favor of Kurt Suzuki for the third time in four games.

Tucker Barnhart C | TEX
Reds' Tucker Barnhart: Day off Friday
Barnhart is not in the lineup for Friday's game at San Diego.
The 28-year-old has alternated starts with Curt Casali over the last five games. Barnhart has enjoyed a solid start to the season by slashing .263/.404/.395 with a 9:7 BB:K over 47 plate appearances.

Travis d'Arnaud C | LAA
Mets' Travis d'Arnaud: Rough start to season
D'Arnaud went 0-for-2 with a walk in Wednesday's loss to the Phillies.
Since coming off the IL, d'Arnaud has gone just 1-for-14 in five games. The Mets have been giving Wilson Ramos frequent rest, taking him out of the starting lineup every fourth game or so, but d'Arnaud isn't exactly doing much to warrant a larger share of the workload. Barring an injury to Ramos, he'll remain well off the fantasy radar even in deep two-catcher formats.

Francisco Mejia C | TB
Padres' Francisco Mejia: Can't control run game
Mejia went hitless and struck out once in three at-bats Tuesday in the Padres' 8-2 loss to the Rockies.
The unproductive night at the dish sunk Mejia's OPS to .386 for the season, but that was the least of the young backstop's problems Tuesday. The Rockies ran wild on Mejia all night, going 5-for-5 on steal attempts. Defense has never been Mejia's calling card, but he'll need to at least provide a token threat of controlling the run game to have any shot of unseating Austin Hedges as the team's top catcher.

Yan Gomes C | CHC
Nationals' Yan Gomes: Sitting again Wednesday
Gomes is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Giants.
Gomes will sit for a second straight game as Kurt Suzuki picks up another start behind the dish in his place. Look for the 31-year-old Gomes to rejoin the starting lineup for Thursday's afternoon contest.

Tucker Barnhart C | TEX
Reds' Tucker Barnhart: Hits bench Wednesday
Barnhart is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Dodgers, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
Barnhart will hit the bench for Wednesday's matinee matchup after catching all nine innings during Cincinnati's 6-1 loss Tuesday night, going 1-for-2 with a walk and a strikeout. Curt Casali will start behind the dish and hit sixth in his place.

Alex Jackson C | MIN
Braves' Alex Jackson: Returns to minors
Jackson was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.
Jackson is no longer needed at the big-league level with Brian McCann (hamstring) back from the injured list, so he'll head back to the minors to continue his development. The 23-year-old backstop appeared in just three games during his brief stint in the majors, going 0-for-10 with a walk and a trio of strikeouts.

Yasmani Grandal C | PIT
Brewers' Yasmani Grandal: Stays hot with fifth homer
Grandal went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in an 8-4 win over the Cardinals on Tuesday.
Grandal's third-inning drive off Jack Flaherty lifted the Brewers to a three-run lead, and was the key blow in a five-run frame. The 30-year-old backstop is hitting an impressive .404 in the early going, and has only one game without a base hit this season.

J.T. Realmuto C | PHI
Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Huge performance against Mets
Realmuto went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a home run, three runs scored and five RBI in Tuesday's 14-3 rout of the Mets.
The catcher added over 100 points to his SLG with the performance, and Realmuto now sports a .263/.338/.421 slash line through 16 games with two homers, 11 runs and 13 RBI. He should continue seeing a heavy workload for the Phillies, and his strong bat and spot in the heart of the lineup should keep him in the conversation as the top fantasy option behind the plate.
