  • Giants' Chadwick Tromp: Recalled by Giants

Tromp was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, Mark W. Sanchez of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.

Tromp appeared in three games with the major-league club in early June, and he went 4-for-9 with a home run, two RBI and two strikeouts. He isn't starting Monday's game against the Cardinals, but he should be available as a depth option behind the dish after Buster Posey (thumb) exited Sunday's win over Arizona.

  • Reds' Tucker Barnhart: Not starting Monday

Barnhart is on the bench for Monday's game against the Royals, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

He sits after going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI in Sunday's contest, raising his batting average to a respectable .269 on the season. Tyler Stephenson is catching and batting cleanup in the series opener Monday.

  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Blasts eighth homer Sunday

Realmuto went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 11-1 loss to the Padres.

The Phillies were unable to generate much offensive production Sunday, but Realmuto provided the team's lone run with his solo blast in the bottom of the sixth. The 30-year-old had hit just .080 with four strikeouts across the six games leading up to Sunday's matchup, but he's now recorded extra-base hits in each of the last two contests.

  • Sandy Leon C | ATL

Marlins' Sandy Leon: Smacks solo shot

Leon went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 8-7 extra-inning loss to Atlanta.

Leon went yard in the ninth inning for his second homer of the season. Playing time remains scarce for the backup catcher, who has just 17 at-bats in the last two weeks. He's batting .182 with seven RBI, seven runs scored and three doubles through 130 plate appearances overall.

  • Elias Diaz C | KC

Rockies' Elias Diaz: Heads to bench Sunday

Diaz is out of the lineup Sunday versus the Cardinals.

Diaz started six of the past seven games and will receive the day off Sunday. Dom Nunez will work behind the plate in his place.

  • James McCann C | ARI

Mets' James McCann: Sitting Game 1

McCann is out of the lineup for Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader against the Yankees, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

McCann was never likely to start both games of Sunday's twin bill, and he'll take a seat during the matinee. Tomas Nido will catch in the afternoon contest for the Mets.

  • Pirates' Jacob Stallings: Receives breather Sunday

Stallings is not in the lineup Sunday versus Milwaukee, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

Stallings started the past three games and will take a seat for Sunday afternoon's series finale against the Brewers. Michael Perez will work behind the plate in his place.

  • Padres' Victor Caratini: Not starting Sunday

Caratini is out of the lineup Sunday against the Phillies.

Caratini started the first two games of the series and will take a seat for the finale after going 1-for-6 with a walk. Webster Rivas will start behind the plate in his place Sunday.

  • Yan Gomes C | CHC

Nationals' Yan Gomes: Sitting with forearm issue

Gomes is out of the lineup Sunday against the Dodgers after getting hit by a pitch on the right forearm Saturday, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

The 33-year-old never exited Saturday's contest but is dealing with some swelling Sunday morning, so he'll receive the day off given the quick turnaround. It doesn't appear to be a serious issue, so Gomes should be considered day-to-day. Tres Barrera will start at catcher in his place.

  • Omar Narvaez C | HOU

Brewers' Omar Narvaez: Not starting Sunday

Narvaez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Pirates.

Narvaez went 5-for-6 with an RBI and three runs scored during Saturday's contest, and he'll receive the day off Sunday after starting the past four games. Manny Pina will work behind the plate for the Brewers in the series finale.
