Haase is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Red Sox.

Haase started the past four games -- two at catcher, two in left field -- and will receive a breather Saturday after starting the year 3-for-23 with eight strikeouts. Jake Rogers has clubbed two early home runs and will take over behind the plate.

Langeliers went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run in a loss to the Rays on Friday.

The young backstop unleashed a monstrous 440-foot shot to left field in the seventh inning for his first homer of the season. After opening the campaign hitless over his first seven plate appearances, Langeliers has hit safely in four straight games, going 6-for-16 with Friday's homer and walk and three total runs.

Bethancourt went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs scored Friday against the Athletics.

Bethancourt took Ken Waldichuk yard in the third inning to tally both his first hit and home run of the campaign. He's alternated starts with Francisco Mejia behind the plate to begin the season, though neither player has produced early on to separate themselves in the competition for playing time. Overall, Bethancourt has gone 1-for-12 with four strikeouts and two walks across four games.

Perez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 3-1 win over the Giants.

Perez has actually been one of the Royals' most consistent hitters so far, batting .259 (7-for-27) across seven games. His homer Friday came in the eighth inning to give the Royals a bit more breathing room. Three of the catcher's seven hits have gone for extra bases (one homer, two doubles), but he has just one RBI and two runs scored, as the lineup around him has struggled with run production.

Heim is not in the starting lineup Friday versus the Cubs.

Heim will take a seat Friday as the Rangers travel to Chicago. Mitch Garver will replace him behind the plate and bat seventh in the series opener.

McCann (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Aberdeen on Friday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

McCann won't be ready for activation from the injured list when first eligible as the O's had hoped, but he's not far off. A return at some point next week seems likely.

Rogers went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's loss to the Red Sox.

Rogers went deep against Chris Sale in the second inning, giving the Detroit catcher his second home run this season in just 12 at-bats. Eric Haase started in left field Thursday, and if the Tigers do that more often, Rogers could see a larger role behind the plate. For now, he's still Haase's primary backup at the catcher position, but Rogers looks like a sneaky play whenever he's in the lineup due to his power potential.

Trevino went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 4-2 win against Philadelphia.

Trevino's seventh-inning two-run homer gave New York some breathing room in what had been a 2-1 game. The long ball was the catcher's first this season after he went deep a career-best 11 times this year. Trevino has started four of the Yankees' six games behind the plate thus far, slashing .308/.308/.538 with three RBI over 13 plate appearances.

Kirk is absent from the Blue Jays' lineup for Thursday's game against the Royals.

He caught Wednesday night, so it will be Danny Jansen for a day game after a night game. Kirk has exactly one hit in each of his four games this season and has two RBI and one run scored.

Grandal is not in the White Sox' lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Giants.

Grandal will get some rest after catching three straight and five of the first six games this season. Seby Zavala will catch Lance Lynn.
