Grandal was scratched from Wednesday's lineup due to right knee soreness.

Grandal is out of Wednesday's contest but is officially listed as day-to-day, suggesting the injury may not be too severe. The White Sox have an off day Thursday, so Grandal will benefit from an extra day of rest before potentially returning Friday against Boston.

Garver is 4-for-20 with three RBI and two runs scored over his last five contests and will catch a day off Wednesday. Ezequiel Duran will serve as Texas' designated hitter in Garver's place, allowing Travis Jankowski to start in left field while batting eighth.

Thaiss isn't in the Angels' lineup Wednesday against the Dodgers, Sarah Valenzuela of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Wednesday will mark the third consecutive game Thaiss begins in the dugout as he is hitless (0-for-8) across his last three contests. Chad Wallach will start behind the dish instead and bat seventh.

Kyle Higashioka will start behind the plate and bat eighth. Neither catcher has offered significant offensive production for the Yankees here in 2023.

Minnesota signed Kolozsvary to a minor-league contract Wednesday, Darren Wolfson of Channel 5 Saint Paul reports.

Kolozsvary declined his outright assignment to Triple-A Norfolk last week, and the 27-year-old backstop will instead head to Triple-A St. Paul to provide organizational depth behind the plate for Minnesota. The Twins would need to add him to the 40-man roster if they deem him worthy of a promotion.
